Edgerton Hartwell & Lisa Wu-Hartwell
The hit Bravo show "Real Housewives of Atlanta" should have a name change to "Real Housewives of the Recession" as Lisa Wu-Hartwell and her adorable hubby Edgerton Hartwell are the third set of castmembers to fall victim to foreclosure.
According to TMZ.com, the couple recently lost their multi-million-dollar Georgia mansion to bank foreclosure.
A rep says Lisa and Ed were in talks with the lender to restructure the loan since the home had lost value, but their attempt failed.
In 2007, the Hartwells bought the mansion for $2.9 million but the bank only received $1.9 million when it was resold earlier this month.
The rep adds, "Ed and Lisa are fine. They have settled in their [new] home, that sits on 10 acres and they OWN it!"
Let's face it, "Real Housewives of Atlanta" makes for great television -ranging from the antics of Kim and NeNe, mystery-man Big Papa and NeNe's love-hate relationship with Sheree.
Unfortunately for the ladies, the show is also exposing the harsh realities of the current economic times.
No one is untouchable.
If you recall, last season NeNe Leakes was reportedly evicted from her home after falling behind on her rent and so far this season, Sheree was put out of her home, after her soon-to-be-ex-husband allegedly stopped paying the mortgage without her knowledge.

A lot of haters come on here bashing people who lost their homes to foreclosure. I suppose a lot are ones who could never afford to own a car much less a home. Keep in mind some homeowners are losing their homes not because they are broke but because the home is not worth the purchase price it was valued at by greedy real estate industry devils. Why continue to pay for a home that is now worth 4x less than it was purchased for; its common sense. I think most people are envious these people have an income that allows them to enjoy a better lifestyle and are taking joy seeing them in pain. The real pain comes from people wishing they could enjoy a taste of that lifestyle or live a little bit better then their current situation allows. They feel good seeing misfortune on people who they are a bit more well off. They are externalizing their preceived personal failures because they have not attained the status or security a decent income allows.

I love how Lisa and her friends come on her and defend her. Shes broke...haha..thats whats funny about it. She puts this image that she lives in the lap of luxury but this is the second time she has been broke (the first after she broke up with keith sweat) And she lost custody of her kids!! What kind of mom loses custody of her kids? That never happens. Be a little humble Lisa and stop flaunting yourself and your supposed wealth. People will like you even if you dont have this luxurious image. A person can be a success without making a ton of money. Be a good mother and a good wife.

My home is not worth what we paid for it in 2005. My husband is an attorney and there is no way it is going into foreclosure. As long as you are able to make your monthly payment that is. Obviously, Lisa and her husband were unable to make their monthly payment.
um, wow! had no idea, live in your means, i am a millionaire but im not stupid, i have a small modest comfortable home and a litte hummer for me and the kids to get around. my money is not invested or tied up in banks , i give to charity and help less fortunate families every xmas. these are stuck up, evil hearted people, and you know what god don't like ugly! even O.C. housewives had bad luck one has a son in prison the other has a 15yr old alcoholic daughter. no one is untouchable, not even me. so my advice would be .... stop frontin' foo!

Lisa is a gold digger formerly Keith Sweat's wife who lost custody of the kids not being a good mother. The gawking comes at all the SO CALLED BUSINESSES SHE CLAIM TO HAVE. Babyline, jewelry, fashion line and real estate. THE REAL ISSUE IS ON THE INTRO OF THE SHOW SHE CLAIMS IF IT DOESN'T MAKE ME MONEY I DON'T DO IT....SO IS NOTHING SHE DOES SUCCESSFUL. Fake FAKE FAKER. Falling back on Ed's other house is not good enough. It isn't a mansion, it's having no place to live amnd kicking out ur family who is staying there.
Haters, anyone who buys a home should realize that the market fluctuates. It always has and always will. That's why anyone who buys a home should be ready to ride out the full 15 or 30 year mortgage. You'll rarely - if ever - get that deep and not find your property worth more than you paid for it. But in the middle there will be ups and downs. Like Karen said, your monthly payment has nothing to do with it. You pay mortgage like any other bill no matter that the current value supposedly is. A car loses value as soon as you pull off the lot. But you still make the payments, right? The Housewives need to stop fronting. That's why our kids grow up with unreasonable expectations - all these so-called celebrities pretending it's all about the bling and failing to mention that their "bling" is borrowed at best.

Eventho Kim dates married men, she has not lost anything like all the other housewives. I agree KaTrina. These women chose to be on the show and therefore their biz is in the streets. As for Lisa, there are people w/children who are living on the streets, in tent cities, and shelters because of foreclosure so my pity for her is zero. All of RHOA have boasted and bragged and acted like they were heirs to the Getty fortune, pleassse . . .
I think that black folks are the worse when it comes to hating on other A.A.'s with money. The media has been saying since last year that Lisa was loosing her home. But this season she still in it. I find it all pretty discussting how we can tear each other down just because you don't like how other people spend there money or live there life, if it's not the way you do it.

I think this season has started off in the poorest of taste. The language used by the women and men is horrible. Using the "B" word constantly is very demeaning to women. How can these women say they have class? The way they talk and act to one another says volumes about their character. No one with class would act and speak as they do. The show is entertaing but the language needs to be watched. Come on ladies act like ladies.

I feel bad for them but there is a lesson to be learned: Called living beyond your means. People do it everyday without saving or any thought to what tomorrow might bring. A million dollar mansion is nice don't get me wrong but make sure you have the income stream not only to make the payments but keep the lights on, water running etc.

I love the show, I think Kandi is the only one who deserves respect... She earned her money... Nene lookes and acts like a Saschuach, I used to like Nene until she went off on Kandi... Kim is a greedy money hungry whore who needs therapy, I'd love to see Kim have to get a minimum wage job because big Papa stops paying her bills... Lisa I like a lot, hate to see her struggle... My greatest regret about the 'Atlanta Housewives' is their negative behavior, language, and overall lack of integrity. These women are not the example that should be portrayed to today's, or our future African American woman.
What type of moral and spiritual example are they setting? The cursing, bickering, and physical confrontations have offered the viewing public little, or no positive role models with the exception of Khandi.
I would loved to have seen some representation of Black women with moral, ethical, and spiritual values that did not portray money and material possessions as the be all and end all of success. If these women are the reality of today's successful African American woman what a tragic legacy they are leaving.
Its just entertainment. TV should not be where we get our morals and values from. I think most viewers would agree that most of the time we are laughing at these ladies and their antics rather than taking notes about how we can behave like them. And in the "Housewives" defense, the cameras probably catch lots of their very mature and moral behavior but those scenes don't make it past the editing room because viewers like "you" and me would not watch a show that did not entertain us!!! Just think of it as a comedy and move on....Life is too short to be so serious!!!!
It's funny how they have closed out on Bravo as the highest rated housewife show, but are losing all of their ammenities. It sounds like Bravo doesnt want to pay. Kate plus 8 is also on cable network and jon and kate make over a million a year. These ladies bring in way more viewers.

Please, I need to find out where Lisa got her sofa from. The beautiful long sofa that was standing in her livingroom. I have been trying to find out for over half a year now. I had to pause the show to take a picture of it. Please let me know where she bought it or anything similiar to it.

Lisa used to be my cousin's best friend; when she broke up with Keith and went through all the drama.... my cousin was there... as soon as she got "House wives of Atlanta" and my cousin tried to call her... not only did she not return any of her calls she would not accept her friend invite on face book.... Lisa is a butt hole plain and simple.
