Adam Lambert has some choice words for KISS frontman Gene Simmons, who suggested that Lambert stepping out as a gay artist would be career suicide.
Lambert tells Rolling Stone that Simmons is "not a very great singer." Yeah, thanks, Captain Obvious! He also says, "Gene was being a d*ck." Uh oh. A war between the KISS Army and Glamberts would be pretty ugly. KISS Army would obviously win, they're a military force, after all. It would be like a fight between the marines and the cast of Glee.
Unsurprisingly, Lambert also cites David Bowie as a major inspiration, for his androgynous identity shifting over the years, and says his new album will incorporate a 1930's Berlin feel. Not a bad Bowie impression as long as he avoids the career-stumble Nazi salute Bowie pulled.
He also discusses being told to 'tone down the gay' in the past and his own fondness for theatrically flamboyant performances.
Lambert, who recently broke up with his boyfriend, has been spotted out and about at clubs recently but says he has no intention of dating anyone. He also dispelled fears that his album would be competition with Kris Allen, as he told E! Online: "If anybody watched the show, they know we're apples and oranges."

Well, I'll just say I'm a card carrying member of the KISS Army and I agree Gene was a D**k. I agree with Adam completely on this. Besides, I've always been more of a Paul Stanley fan than Gene's anyway but Adam has a point and frankly a lot of talent and hutspa. Can't want to see Gene's response. Mascara Fight!! Lol
I was a KISS fan, never so much a Gene Simmons fan. I think he was hurt when asked what it was like to perform on the same stage with Adam Lambert so he had to throw a punch. In with the new (Adam), out with the old (Gene).

First of all...the RS interview you are referring to was in JUNE!! Way to be on top of things. Secondly, most of what you wrote is FICTION. The album is NOT going to incorporate a 1930's feel...he RECENTLY said that the video for the new single may have a 1930's feel, he recently broke up with his boyfriend and said that he IS going to date on tour. I take a little offense in the comment that because you are in your sixties you are to old to enjoy good music, and need canes. I am 68 and I am a huge KISS fan, but I am also a very big Glambert fan. I love every thing about him and I love his voice. I don't think that one is better then the oter because they are both deserving of fame. Why can you not like more then one artist??? You have one of your facts right, he was referring to the single and not the album with the 1930s feel. This RS article is new and will be in an upcoming issue. And Adam recently he said he is not dating right now but focusing on his promotion. He also did say he would date on the tour which was an earlier statement... though he may stick to that, the tour is months away.

Gene IS a d*ck with a huge ego. I think he's just jealous of Adam considering Adam's star is on the rise and Gene's is on the wane. Gene has complimented Adams vocals, he simply made a suggestion and a thought about his choice to talk about his lifestyle as being a mistake.....Gene is a legend. Sold millions of albums, influenced hundreds of successful musicians and continues to sell out 20 thousand seat venues...Haters go away..
