Michael Jackson wrote about his infamous accident and what may have led to its happening.
The recently released footage of Michael Jackson in the infamous 1984 Pepsi commercial is causing a debate.
The fire captain working the set that day to ensure safety says the director, Bob Giraldi, told Michael to stay longer under the veil of pyrotechnics to give the effect he's born of the fire.
Stand there longer [under the sparks]. You'll look more majestic," Captain Don Donester overheard the director say that day, TMZ.com is reporting.
The website, which broke the news of Michael's death June 25, called up Giraldi, who also wrote and directed Jackson's 1983 award-winning video "Beat It." He disagreed with Donester's recollection.
That's not true. Whatever," Giraldi told TMZ staff before abruptly hanging up.
One person who agrees with Donester? Michael. In his 1988 biography "Moonwalk," Michael details the moments leading up to the fateful accident.
(Giraldi) came up to me and said, 'Michael, you're going down too early. We want to see you up there, up on the stairs. When the lights come on, we want to reveal that you're there, so wait.'"
