Last week many were wondering what had happened to Sammy Sosa's skin. It this picture taken on Wednesday you can see that Mr. Sosa's skin is considerably lighter than it used to be during his baseball playing days.

Sammy Sosa has stated that a cosmetic cream he uses to soften his skin is the main reason why he was recently photographed with a much whiter face. As reported in an earlier article Sammy Sosa made an appearance last Wednesday night at the Latin Recording Academy Person of The Year event in honor of Juan Gabriel in Las Vegas.

Sosa said in a Spanish interview with Univision reporter Tony Dandrades on Tuesday,

“I’m doing well, doing well, thanks to God. A little surprised by the tsunami of attention, I use a cream to keep my skin smooth and soft. I apply it before I go to bed. When I was playing for Chicago all those years, I was in the sun a lot for 1 o’clock games. The flashes (from the cameras) also made my skin look lighter. I’m surprised with the controversy this has caused.”

Unfortunately, he declined to identify the cream.

Sosa denied rumors that he is attempting to look like Michael Jackson and assures fans that he is not suffering from any skin illness such as vitiligo. So, no need to worry about Sammy Sosa's physical or mental health after all.
