So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Mia Michaels has officially announced that she is leaving SYTYCD. No reason has been given and people are beginning to wonder why she quit so suddenly. Rumors are running rampant that there are pictures floating around of Mia Michaels with a shaved head. So far all we know is that Mia was on SYTYCD Wednesday with a very short haircut which is not really out of the norm for Mia.
On Wednesday night's show Mia said,
"Recently, I haven't had a lot of things go my way, and it's really cool to know that it is going my way today, because you know what? You're going to be in our top 20,"
That comment led people to believe that Mia was trying to say something about her health. No comment has been made by Mia Michaels regarding the rumor of her having cancer so for now I'd say that this story is just one of those rumors that was started from lack of information and people with wild imaginations.
People are trying to connect the dots and Mia + suddenly resigning + super short hair must = cancer. Nobody seems to know if this is true or false and if it is incorrect we don't know who started the rumor we first saw the story at lalate. For now it is just a rumor, we have been scouring the internet for some reputable source to confirm but so far we have found nothing. We will keep you posted and hopefully the rumors are not reality.
According to E! News, Mia Michaels wrote this in a Wednesday night posting to her Facebook account,
"It's been an amazing five years on SYTYCD. I thank them for all the great memories and movement I have been able to create for the world. Today was my official resignation of the U.S. show and look forward to what's ahead for me."
Michaels also bid farewell to the show on her Twitter account - for some reason she uses all caps,
"I AM OFFICIALLY AN ADORING FAN OF SYTYCD....THANK U FOR 5 WONDERFUL YRS,"
"TO CREATE MOMENTS AND MOVEMENT FOR THE WORLD TO SHARE WITH ME WAS A GIFT...THANKS SYTYCD AND LOOK FORWARD TO WHATS AHEAD FOR ME...LOOKOUT WORLD!!!!!"
Fox and reps for the show have not responded to request for comment and no word from executive producer Nigel Lythgoe about what's going on.

I hope cancer is a just a rumor and she left for much happier reasons.
I hope this is just a terrible rumor.
On the Wednesday US show SYTYCD, Ms. Michaels did appear with a closely cropped coif. She did make the statement on the show when telling one contestant they were in (Lunacy?), and I may not quote it exactly, "things haven't been going my way recently, but it is great when I get to say this...." My hopes, prayers and support for Ms. Michaels, whatever she may be facing. She is a talent that brings a level of superior dance to whatever she is involved with.
she doesn't have cancer as far as I know. She was at the pulse in Atlantic City last weekend and she told us that she left the show because she didnt feel like herself anymore, she didnt feel like "mia" waking up everyday.
