Adam Lambert: Hero for freedom of expression

The American Music Awards opened up with Janet Jackson doing one of her usual no-talent, high school cheerleader inspired performaces. It was embarrassing, especially since Janet is still trying to remind everyone that she is Michael Jackson's sister.
Another trashy performance was Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. Lady Gaga, as usual, looked like a creature from outer space who is trying to be hip and cool. It didn't work.
The American Music Awards have gone downhill for years in quality while consistently scoring high ratings. It used to be taken seriously by industry insiders who now watch the show for the trainwreck effect. J-Lo provided the trainwreck highlight when she fell on her much idolized ass. Thank God there was one person to save the American Music Awards from total irrelevancy: Adam Lambert!
During his amazing performance, Lambert was seen kissing his male keyboardist, grinding a dancer's head against his pelvis, and grabbing the crotch of another. There was oral sex simulated towards the end of the performance. It was trashy, but it raised a question: Why is it okay for a straight woman to promote sexuality while it is evil for a gay man to do the same thing?
It's likely that Adam will be condemned for his performance in many conservative quarters. However, there are also many praising his performance. Adam Lambart has become a superstar and rightfully so.

Janet is an amazing singer, songwriter, producer, and dancer. And her success shows it. No talent? I think you need a reality check.
Janet is like 43 or something and is still kicking more ass than we could probably dream of. Obviously as we get older we aren't up to par with our younger selves. She's got talent and real talent doesn't vanish into thin air. Period. She's one of a kind, that's all. I don't wanna touch the GaGa topic with a ten foot pole, haha... but Adam's "big performance" was sloppy and just not one to really look up to. I don't care about what he did with anyone on stage, but the whole thing could have been classier. Not saying don't kiss a guy, but be classy, c'mon!

The only thing Adam Lambert saved was his place at the "end" of the MUST SEE TV line. Janet never mentioned her brother -- you, the author did. In deed, no one should mention Adam in the same sentence as Janet: on air -- she's class -- on air -- he's trash. If he wanted to do a cabaret show -- he should find himself a seedy bar on the lower east side and work it. If sexuality is more important to him than his venue -- tell him to save his performance for his partner -- videotape and play it for himself.
Sue......What Adam did in his performance was not just a kiss like Madonna, Britney etc.
I do not watch the AMAs for sex, I watch it because I am a HUGE music fan. Adam's performance last night had nothing to do with music. The music was as bad as his forceful sex.
He did it for shock value only and he should be shot down for the performance...........I don't care if he is gay, straight or bi. He has to put on a good musical performance and keep the sec for a cabaret performance.

That is thanks to MJ and JJ. There is one thing about having an opinion and there is another thing to be negative and to name call. I want to see your frumpy self do the "if" breakdown. I want to see your no style self having the innovative vision of Lady GaGa. And as a gay man, although I appreciate Adam Lambert for being out and proud, even that was too much for me. I was a huge Adam fan. Before they introduced
him, I thought, 'show them your talent, Adam, give them
your best, wow them with your song' ... he did the opposite.
He tried to wow them with raunchy and an over the top sicko
performance. I was embarressed for him. What a career he could
have had. No more. This will do him in. Where was his talent?
Where was his singing voice? Gone. All gone. This has nothing
to do w/Adam being gay -- remember, I loved and supported him
all thru Adol. This performance changed all that for me.
Sue, I dont' know you and I don't know what you're about but I have to disagree with your "prognosis" of the night's events. I am a HUGE Janet fan and think she did awesome. For those who say she is a has been, then don't buy her music and sit down! If she is such a has been then why does she still have a record deal, and still have #1 hits (there are more than 1 billboard chart).
I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga, but I get why people dig her, but again I don't buy her music and have nothing negative to say about her, she was influenced by Janet as much as the next newbie.
As far as Adam Lambert, I didn't care for the "performance" but that my opinion, what I can say is his vocals were not on par with what he was doing on Am. Idol. He just didn't sound good and it wasn't all that - I have vocal training and have worked in the entertainment business. But if you liked it, then go buy his stuff! You should try to be a bit more non-judgmental and report the facts, not your feelings

I am a huge fan of Adam's music. His performance on the other hand was a hot mess. To say that Janet is a has been is extremely crazy of you. Comparing her performance to most of the others especially the female performers is sheer stupidity. To imply that her act was like a cheerleader is a compliment. At least they have moves beyond simulated sex which is the norm for most performers. She along with her backup dancers who were no doubt younger than her actually DANCED not just did hip thrust. Think you can do better. Obviously the majority of entertainers today can't. At least Lady Gaga remained true to herself instead of trying to copy others without success. As for Adam although his music might be great he may have put a nail in his career before it truly got started. There have been many successful male performers how are gay but they let their music speak for them. Not the shock factor of an over the top ego trip which is what we got last night.
this article is absolutely bias . Janet outshined just about everyone there . Adam lierally gave me a headache from all of that screaming - not singing he did . He still has alot to learn about the music business and especially about performing . When he's opening shows and has a 30 plus year career, then let's talk ... lol man get the fck outta here .

Janie,I agree with you.I've had several gay friends,but they don't go around flaunting that kind of garbage.When i'm out with my family, I don't want to see gay,straight,or anyone acting like that.That's why I won't watch awards shows anymore.Then again,the writer thinks Jon Gosslin is the hottest person.I couldn't think that of anyone who has treated their kids like he has.
