Sandra Bullock, who spends most of her time calling Texas home, has had an amazing 2009.
Over the summer, she had the romantic comedy with Ryan Reynolds, The Proposal. The flick brought in over $300 million. Her latest, The Blind Side, is still in theaters. So far, it's brought in over $130 million. That's not bad money, not at all. Especially when you consider that Sandra is a 45-year-old actress. That's been known as the time when opportunities for actresses in Hollywood usually start to stall.
“Sexism is everywhere. Ageism is everywhere. But you know know what? It’s about making money. Look at what Sarah Jessica Parker did with Sex and the City. Look at what Meryl Streep is doing” — she pauses to laugh — “every other week! The proof is in the pudding. I didn’t have the ‘Oh my God, I’m not working because I’m 40.’ I was working when I was 40. I’ve never had this many opportunities in my lifetime.”
Sandra talks about her year of success and more in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, hitting newsstands tomorrow.
