
Family, friends, and team mates gather to say goodbye to UConn football player, Jasper Howard.
Today police charged John William Lomax, 21, with in the stabbing death of University of Connecticut football player, Jasper Howard. The Huffington Post reports, Howard who was an expectant father was killed early Sunday morning October 18th outside the student union. It's reported that the murder happened outside a school dance where the victim was trying to break up a fight.
"There's nothing written in the manual in how to deal with these situations, UConn football coach Randy Edsall said at an emotional press conference. "But I know this - this is a strong team, with strong leadership, and we'll get through it."
Lomax is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit assault. His bond was set at two million dollars. Police also arrested two others in connection with the murder.
Hakim Muhammad, 20, was charged with conspiracy to commit assault and Jamal Todd, 21, for felony charges of falsely reporting an incident, and a misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment for pulling the fire alarm that emptied the dance late that night.None of the arrested suspects is a UConn student.

College and Professional athletes are on televeision, they give interviews and press conferences, they have video games modeled after them, they ARE celebrities.
