It was reported today by Sports Illustrated, that Yankee third baseman (and Madonna boy toy), Alex Rodriguez, better known as A-Roid A-Rod, tested positive for testosterone and Primobolan, two types of anabolic steroids, while playing for the Texas Rangers in 2003--the same year he won the AL home run title and an MVP award (see the original SI story here).
When SI approached him about the report at a Miami gym on Thursday, for an explanation of the positive steroid test, he said: "I'm not saying anything."
Though in 2003, there was no penalty for steroid use, Rodriguez has denied using performance-enhancing drugs in the past, so at the very least, he's a dirty liar.
The potential all-time Home Run King's 10-year deal with the Yankees currently has him making $305 million, plus a bonus if he ties each of the top four "Home Run Kings": Willie Mays (660), Babe Ruth (714), Hank Aaron (755) and Barry Bonds (762).
Interestingly, other sources have noted that there is no language in Rodriguez' contract that will affect his $305 million paycheck if he is found to be using steroids.
In 2006, Rodriguez reportedly told Sports Illustrated his first choice was to play for the Red Sox, saying: "I would have preferred to play in Boston at the time. I thought it was the best team and city for us."
