Vick is switching to a different bird
Michael Vick has become a celebrity in the Atlanta area, not only for his run as the Falcon's quarterback, but notoriously for his involvement with a dog-fighting ring that landed him in prison. Now that Vick has been released, part of his probation includes volunteer work with the humane society. He was spotted in Atlanta this past weekend at the humane society discussing dog-fighting, his past, and the ways he is working to give back to the community. Overall his appearance was well-received and motivational to those in attendance.
At the time of the speech, no NFL team had signed Vick, which likely was attributed to his crime and reputation, but earlier tonight, Derek Boyko, spokesman for the Philadelphia Eagles confirmed that Vick signed a 2-year deal, valued at approximately $6.8 million dollars. Not too bad given his recent past. As an Atlanta-resident, I am happy to see Vick landing a new home and I wish him success in his future endevors.
What do you think about Vick surfacing back in the NFL? Should he still be allowed to play? Please comment below and let me know what you think!

Donovan McNabb is injury prone. Given that, I fear
the Eagles beating Atlanta in the playoffs. God
bless Michael Vick. But God bless Matt Ryan a
wee bit more.
I'm not happy with Vick. I understand everyone makes a mistake and deserves a chance ( especially considering it is his first). But I like that his 'forgiveness' is taken a bit slower. He should have been allowed into a lower league for a year or two, before being allowed back into the NFL. It makes me wonder if the dog fighting problem in the streets of Philadelphia is consider high priorities on the crime resolution list locally. Well at least with all of the eyes focused on him from more than one group of peoples, it'll be interesting just how 'clean' he is able to keep himself. The mentality he has demonstrated didn't just develop overnight and I'm hard press to beleive it will disappear just as quickly.
I won't be giving the Eagles a dime as long as he's on the roster. Yes, Vick did his time and fulfilled his obligation under the law. That doesn't make his crime go away, it just means he's served his time. This is a man who tortured God's creatures in the most inhumane ways for fun and profit. He's a disgrace to the City of Philadelphia and as long as he's here I don't give a damn whether the Eagles win or lose.
You say that until they start winning!! All ppl in philly flip-flop! they hate their team one min. and love em' the next!!! I live in Philly and I call it like I see it. He paid his debt to society, volunteered according to court order and is volunteering on his own in Philly. He's attempting to make amends.,,which shows me that he learned from his mistake and won't make the same poor choices in the future....what better lesson to teach your children....Hate?? or Learn from your mistakes??? Hmmm....take the lessor and you're a biggot!!
I believe everyone deserves a second chance. Aside from his troubles with animal cruelty, he seems like a charitable and honorable person. I am glad that he has gotten his deserved chance and seems enthuthiastic to live a new life.
This is ridiculous! He kill and tortured countless animals and hes only doing this charity work because he has to! but were gonna give him a couple million every year any way? He hasn't even shown any remorse of the poor animals he brutally murdered! A man like him should not be in a position in which he is seen as a role model to kids. What does this say about our society? That its ok to torture and kill just as long as u say your sorry?
ashley. in my opinion, you are dumb. donte stallworth was drunk driving and killed a guy. he got 30 days in prison. mike vick fought and tortued dogs and he got 2 years. im not saying that killing dogs is cool, but its not as bad as killing a guy. so shut the mouth.
Michael Vick has been winning me fanstasy football games left and right! If I win the whole thing I'm going to donate 100 dollars to the humane society in his name!!!
I live in the South and in the South love it or hate it. We pay money to see everything fight. I feel terrible about the dogs. Michael just got caught up into something that's really just part of the norm. He's done his time. Leave the guy alone and let him play.
Got something to say?
