Some like it hot and others definitely do not. And when it comes to Australian women, they've had their share of hot, naked women on the covers of (and inside) magazines in the past month. Most recently, Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr splashed her naked body on the pages of GQ and has suffered scalding hot critique on her ethics...and her physique!
The Aussie born lingerie queen has, in the past, been applauded for her studies in nutrition and her yogic lifestyle full of organic Noni juice and consistent yoga practice, but the 26-year-old's usual high-fives for a hot body may have backfired.
This time, worse than before. In October 2009, Miranda Kerr posed scantily clad as the new face for David Jones lingerie and The Daily Mail called her "shockingly thin" and "emaciated". Now she'll have to defend like-minded commentary along with another dose of setting women back into "olden" times.
“Why do Hollywood females have the need to pose “in the buff”? This is now 2010! Females nowadays should not be considered trophies or anything else," the UK's Daily Telegraph quoted a commenter as saying under the JustJared.net preview post. "As long as this stupid practice continues….females will never be taken as human beings."
Others have taken the opposite direction of thinking Kerr is anything but fit, by accusing her body frame being fit for a pre-teen. One Huffington Post media reader said:
"She has the body of a 12-year old girl…not sexy at all" while another agrees in contempt. "[Models ]don’t look like women, they look like girls. I prefer women.”
And another echo coming from the realms of recent and extreme, female Australian nakedness. "Wonder why these girls just can stay wearing their cloths. MUST they get naked to become famous?" a blog reader commented on Hollyscoop.com. "Is that a requirement? Don't get me wrong naked is beautiful, but sharing it with the world is not."
The backlash against Kerr comes after Australia's Marie Claire featured Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins posing nude on its February 2010 cover. In an effort to show what "real women" look like, Hawkins agreed to go "unphotoshopped" on the cover of the magazine causing major upheaval from women across the globe saying she made them want to adopt eating disorders and made said after seeing the cover of the mag, they feel worse about their bodies.
