Reality star Kate Gosselin, who made headlines in January after debuting sexy blonde hair extensions, has gotten a new hairdo: a short bob.
Gosselin, 34, was photographed leaving the NYC hair salon of stylist Ted Gibson Feb. 5 after getting four inches trimmed off her hair.
SHE HATED HER $7,000 EXTENSIONS
Gibson, who has coifed the tresses of Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway, spent nearly 20 hours in January adding hundreds of extensions to Gosselin’s originally short, spike blonde hair.
Unfortunately, Kate reportedly hated her high-maintenance $7,000 hair extensions.
"She thinks her hair looks overprocessed and damaged," an anonymous source told Us last month. "She's afraid people will think she's one of Tiger Woods' bimbos!"
In an online video posted Jan. 10, Gosselin looks in the mirror and says of her extensions: "Oh Lord, have mercy. It's weird."
So last week, Gibson gave Kate a short, straight bob. "She came in because her own hair has grown, so we changed the length," he told People. "We thought shoulder length would be ideal–we wanted it to be straight, and sexy and moving. We took off about four inches."
He adds: "She’s ecstatic about the way the extensions look. That’s one great thing about extensions–she can go back to having it long again, whenever she wants. She can keep changing.”
After leaving the salon Feb. 5 with her new hairstyle sporting a miniskirt, heels and black cardigan, Gosselin dined at trendy Manhattan eatery Butter.
SHE WORKS OUT AND DIETS TO BE SKINNY
Kate, who received a free tummy tuck for starring on her now-defunct reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, maintains her svelte physique by working out daily and watching her diet religiously.
Before becoming a reality tv star, Gosselin was a heavier, brunette version of herself.
After getting a tummy tuck and losing weight, Kate maintained her newly slim physique by eating salads and working out on the treadmill or elliptical trainer for an hour every day.
Gosselin also gets a spa treatment once a month and goes to regular tanning sessions.
"Once a month I take myself to the spa to get a massage and pedicure," Gosselin said recently. " I do still feel guilty, but I am a better and healthier mother for doing it."
Kate, whose TLC reality show was recently cancelled, will do a guest stint co-hosting The View on March 11. She plans to release her third book, I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith and Family in April, and is in talks to star in a new TLC reality show.
The single mother of eight's divorce from ex Jon Gosselin was finalized in December 2009.

I can't wait to read the book. I respect Kate. She doesn't always do things right, but her intent for her children is apparent in her actions during this awful divorce time. She has been focusing on something of substance for her children (financial support and spiritual and emotional well being). Also, taking care of herself physically makes her an emotionally better mother. She is concerned about what her children are thinking and feeling even if she may make some mistakes in judgment. Contrast that with the actions and behaviors of what Jon has been doing for the children's future and well-being.
I want to read the book. Kate is so attractive. She needs time to herself as well as for her children. She deserves her time, too. No mother totally gives all to her children...that is impossible. She would be a better mother when she feels good about herself.
Sure. Everyone should go out and publish personal and private letters to their children. It just makes me all warm and fuzzy. Is she going to explain why the kids don't HAVE any other family?? Twaffle...
Kate is a CUTIE!!!!!
Yes Wayne, Kate is a cutie patooty with a good booty, fine mature beautiful no nonsense woman worthy of good things...
Kate, if you read this try walking and running backwards too for your antagonistic muscles and a strong hamstrings, butt, calves and ankles
