When it comes to health, it's hard not to take a bow in October, tipping our hats to ladies (and yes, men too) that fight for their lives against breast cancer every day.
In celebration of October as National Breast Cancer Awareness month, several celebrities are stepping up to put the issue on center page.
Celebrity actress and singer Jessica Simpson is going beyond the cliche to give breast cancer the boot with her official role as spokesperson in the 16th annual QVC "FFANY Shoes on Sale" event.

In her PSA ads, Simpson is quotes as saying her "Nana" is the mantra behind her motivation.
"My grandmother had breast cancer," the 29-year-old Simpson speaks. "Which is why I am
donating shoes from the Jessica Simpson Collection
and shopping 'FFANY Shoes on Sale' on QVC."
The event will broadcast on QVC on Tuesday, October 13 and run from 7PM - 10PM. The campaign is calling out to all shoe fashionistas to pitch in for a good cause. Select shoes are said to be going for half the manufacturer’s suggested retail price and net proceeds benefit breast cancer research and education.
The event is being sponsored by the QVC channel and the Fashion Footwear Association of New York, (FFANY), both entities contributing over $30 million to breast cancer research and education thus far.
This year, more than 100,000 pairs of shoes from more than 100 brands will be showcased at discounted rates.
Other celebs set to picket for a cure are celebrity actress Christina Applegate, who is bringing other celebs together to design tees for a Cure. To read more about Applegate's foundation efforts, click here.
