Jessica Simpson is a wonderful role model for girls who aren't stick thin. But one does have to question the outfit she wore as she sang the National Anthem at the Tiger Tourney Golf Event in Maryland. Simpson wore a body-hugging blue-and-red horizontal striped dress.
We all know that horizontal stripes are not recommended for women with a large bust or curves, as the hortizontal stripes create a wider illusion of the body. Did Jessica get a new stylist? If so, she might consider finding another one. As beautiful as she is, this dress did not do her justice.
In other Jessica Simpson news, she will be doing another reality show titled The Price of Beauty, which will follow the blonde bombshell as she travels around the world in search of what people find beautiful. (Hopefully, it will not include this dress!) It will premiere on VH1 in 2010.

This dress looks fine...I would hardly call it a faux-pas.
I have to agree this is a Faux Pas and anyone that says it isn;t has to be guilty of the same...And she IS THE FARTHEST FROM A ROLE MODEL and OR BOMBSHELL BEAUTY. For me A Bombshell beauty is someone who doesn't alter their natural appearance.
I love this dress. I wish I could pull something like this off as well as she does. I feel the Horiontal Stripes Rule is a bit dated and actually works a lot of the time.
That rule is outdated. I think she looks great and anyone who disagrees has a right to their opinion. Her waist is small in comparison to her bust and this is what she is flaunting.
But role model? Yeesh!
I think she looks just fine. Nothing wrong with her figure, much better than anorexic-looking singers and actresses, OR the dress.
The article says that she is a role model for women/girls who aren't stick thin, which is true. And horizontal stripes do not flatter curvier women so I agree on the dress not looking the best on her. But I still love Jessica Simpson!
This Michael Kors dress looks terrible on her; not flattering in the slightest bit. I definitely agree with you; it's a major faux pas.
It's not the stripes, it's the fact that it is skin tight and open in the back that makes it inappropriate for a golf course and the national anthem.
I think she's absolutely beautiful and has a GREAT body. The dress is an unfortunate choice on an otherwise lovely young woman.
When I think of bad horizontal stripes I don't think of this. She looks great! I am pretty sure that MK would agree with me!
