They would have you think that the 3 other children he has, were all from different mothers.
In fact, his three other children are with former wife, Sadie Frost, and he is also the stepfather to her eldest son. They married in 1997, and together they have; daughter Iris and sons Rudy and Rafferty.
After six years of marriage, the couple divorced in late 2003. He then dated and became engaged to British actress Sienna Miller, whom he met on the set of Alfie, the engagement was broken off after he publicly apologized for having an affair with his kids’ nanny.
This 4th child, a 5lb 12oz daughter name Sophia with model Samantha Burke 24, a woman he had a brief affair with, was born Tuesday Sept. 22nd. Although they are no longer involved, it is said that Jude “intends to be a fully supportive part of the child’s life.”
Not much is known about Ms Burke. However, on her personal blog she describes herself as: “an actress, model, and soon-to-be mom!”
Ms Burke has used the site to defend accusations that she was a gold digger after it was revealed she was having Law’s baby, and said that she “didn’t choose to publish the story of my pregnancy.” Speculations are that the exposure would do wonders for her career as a model and an aspiring actress, not to mention the financial gain from having Jude Laws baby.
Law recently appeared onstage in London in the title role of the Donmar Warehouse production of Hamlet. He is now in New York preparing for the Broadway adaptation of the same production, which opens at the Broadhurst Theatre in October.
I for one like Jude Law, his movies and gentle manner. No one is without flaws, and at least he is stepping up to his obligations. I've yet to hear a derogatory statement coming out of him regarding his brief affair with this woman.

No serious person these days can trust the media to even try to be fair any more. Jude Law is a tremendously talented and dedicated actor (I saw his Hamlet). He spent 6 years married to the same woman and was with her for over 10 years, I think. He has a child with another woman and has stated that he will take care of her. Yet the media vilify him and try to make him out to be some sort of monster so they can sell a few papers and some advertising space. I used to respect journalism as a profession. Not anymore. Entertainment media 'journalists' now cut and paste rumours from the internet, put as filthy a slant on it as they can, then call it entertainment 'news'. I feel like I have to take a shower whenever I read their stories. I feel sorry for Jude Law. His life doesn't deserve to be treated like a piece of meat to be picked apart by jackals.

I agree. The media makes it seem like he had 3 kids by different women. And why is he taking the brunt of all these when a lot more celebs have had kids from flings. Why are they being so nasty?
Jude has kept quiet, he has never denigrated Samantha or the bay - except for the statement that he is accepting that the baby is his and that he is supporting her and will be a part of her life, he had done nothing else to engage the public's interest except going on with his work.
I, for one abhor women who sleeps with celebrities, tattle about it(nanny, I'm looking at you), gets child from them and then throws a press conference, demands child support and milks every minute of the affair to get their name in the press.
If I decide to get pregnant and keep the baby I sure will not go after the child's father since I was the one who decided to keep the baby. These kind of women sure makes me want to vomit.
It's strange how Jude Law has been vilified in so much of the news coverage of this. The story itself is really not that shocking: a sexy, single, world famous actor had a one night stand. Wow. The fact that it ended with a baby is newsworthy perhaps, but why is made out to being a scandal is odd IMO. It's a shame - especially for the children involved - that the matter could not have been mostly private. IMO Ms. Burke is partly to blame and yeah - the gold digger word comes to mind. Starting of with a press conference (!) to ask for privacy, then her family talking to the British tabloids and then a blog for her fans (?!) - and perhaps selling baby pictures and her story too? She does not want privacy. She wants attention and money obviously. One wonders if she's aware that it's at the expence of the father of her child.
I would offer the opinion that Samantha is determined to be a part of Jude's life(she probably resents it that he does not fly to his side when he learned that she was having the baby)and would milk every little drop of attention by using this baby.
All these could have been treated privately - no thanks to her. So that gives you an idea of what kind of woiman she is and her family. I do not wonder why Jude is staying away from her at all. Too bad because it is a fact that Jude loves all his children very much and Sophia will be the one who will suffer the loss.
I entirely agree that the media should be held to a higher standard.
It think the key and most important statement is that he certainly seems to be stepping up to his obligations, end of story. This is far more than can be said of many people. Indeed, I admire him for his great talent and good spirit, and find it irrelevant what his personal foibles are in the light of appreciating his work. That professional light is my only concern as a viewer of a film or an audience member at a play.
i have met and spent a little time with jude law. a more decent polite and sweeter man you will never meet. he has been the best father to his children by ex wife sadie frost. raised her son by ex husband gary kemp....the children adore him as does everyone who knows him. this woman used this lovely man for money and publicity. she had sex with him willingly...like most women would. what this type of woman does is unethical...it's for fame and money.....jude is a gentleman....i can't tell you how badly i feel for him that stupid people on the internet take some falsehood and run with it like a football. he will take care of this child. nothing else is their business.
i have spent time with jude law and must tell you he is the sweetest, loviest gentleman. anybody who knows himm will attest to that. he has made one statement only...that he will be supportive of the child and active in her life.
then all these stupid rumours come out and are repeated to death even 'tho there is no foundation to them. if this woman is smart she will stay away from the press but somehow i don't feel that's her goal...she might have dollar signs jingling in front of her eyes....i feel sorry for jude. he deserves better.
Oh my goodness, a single man had "relations" with a single, willing woman. What's the big deal? I don't know either one, but it does seem that she is trying to make a name and a few dollar for herself by having a baby. She should be more considerate of protecting the baby instead of letting the child find out via the media later on in life that she was basically the result of a one night stand. Personally I thinks she should have been more private about it.
Media abuse is an absolutely perfect way to describe what Jude Law is experiencing. But then, hasn't that been the case for years? I think it starts off with the British tabs, who love to sink their into anything about him that they can twist into scandal, embellish, speculate on, claim "sources," and such, and then suddenly it's all regurgitated as fact my other media outlets as they follow the lead. I'm personally turned off by the "tell all" "Big Brother" "reality star" "TMZ" type of celebutainment that's getting dished out more and more.
Anyway, I respect how Jude has forged on with the work he's doing, giving a reportedly brilliant Hamlet performance (which I will see next month in NYC!) in spite of how the media keeps blustering up a storm all around him. The nastiness with which he is being treated is quite unjustified and speaks more about the personal integrity of those writers conjuring up their mess than Jude.

Jill, you are absolutely right in that the media has been unfair to both Jude and Samantha. The thing I think was wrong when the story first broke is the London tab that shared "quotes" from the family, who were being derogatory to Jude and speaking like it was every bit his "fault"...when actually, they both had the sex and neither is "at fault," it's just one of life's circumstances that happens to people with even the best intentions. Other than that, the reports that she will sell pictures and her story are also a negative, but they could be conjured up against her as well, so I reserve judgment on that. They've already dug down to get other photos of her with other celebs, her history as a Hooter's girl (big deal, I know 3 of those myself), and that sort of thing, so she may be suffering a bit of the media abuse herself, but Jude is getting an outrageous amount. It's all too vicious with all the exaggerations and half-truths.

She announced herself as the mother, then held a press conference prominently featuring herself, to ask for 'privacy' (?!); the video was broadcast all over the internet. She also has a blog describing the impending birth. Even as the public does not know how much money Law will have to hand over to Burke, t is clear she wants her 15 minutes of fame.

I could not care less about her, but she has made it tough for her child. And it's going to be tough even if the father turns out to be not Jude Law.

who cares?? they have a baby. its his. they agreed to sex. they knew the risks involved. what both could lose or gain... the baby will have her mom and dad, she will be well provided for and the rest is between them. if WE choose to GIVE this OUR attention then that is OUR choice and OUR problem, so WHO CARES!!!
