Actor James Franco, recently named co-host of the Oscars in February with Anne Hathaway, said today that he may sing during the Academy Awards show. Franco appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly today promoting his film "127 Hours."
During the interview, Regis remarked at how Franco would be the perfect actor to play Dean Martin in a proposed movie by Martin Scorsese about the famous singer's life. That's when James Franco revealed that he "might just sing" at the Academy Awards. When Regis and Kelly tried to get him to sing right there on the spot, Franco hesitated, but said he would have to save his singing debut for the Oscars.
Franco and Hathaway have been deemed peculiar picks to host the show which traditionally has been hosted by comedians. However, Hathaway took part in the opening number of the Oscars in 2009 when Hugh Jackman was the host. If James Franco can join Hathaway in song, maybe the young actors will surprise us all!
The 83rd Annual Academy Awards presentation will be held on February 27, 2011 at the Kodak Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.
