The Eco Friendly Fashionistas & Celebrities Support Dress for Success

Sarah Jane Morris arrived in a veggie-diesel powered vintage Mercedes. Shown here with a pair of shoes to donate. $600 and six shopping carts were filled full of gently used shoes in less than three hours to donate to Dress for Success.

On March 10th, 2009, all the “green” Los Angeles fashionistas came out to support the Second-Annual EcoStiletto Green Girl’s Night Out at Intuition benefiting the charity, Dress for Success.

The host committee included Jennie Garth & Anna Getty who both support environmental causes. This particular charity event always draws out the eco-friendly industry crowd. Some of the stars this night included Sarah Jane Morris (“Seven Pounds”), eco-expert and author Anna Getty, Katie Gill (“Drillbit Taylor”), Lorielle New (“The Practice”), Pamela Hasselhoff, Carolyn Hennesy (“General Hospital”) and Kristen Renton (“Days of Our Lives”).

From a solar-powered DJ Ref to vegetarian hors d’oeurves and cocktails,
it was a green girl’s shopping paradise.

Socially conscious guests were encouraged to bring in a pair of gently used shoes to donate for the Dress for Success charity and 15% of all sales from the night would also be donated to the cause, with an additional 5% if you brought in your own shopping bag. For those that needed a reusable shopping bag for future shopping trips, there was one available through Sierra Club designed by Jennie Garth with biodegradable cleaning wipes from Green Works Natural Cleaning Products to take home.

The girls also had the opportunity to pucker up with the Terra Firma Cosmetics’ lead free lipstick so they could kiss the Teens Turning Green Lips Against Lead petition facilitated by L.A.’s Green Youth Movement.
Just like Ecostiletto.com, Intuition offers environmentally friendly options for the trendsetters that want the designer look. There were stylish eco-shoe designs at the store including styles from Kailia, Libertas, Charmone and Green Bees, which featured recycled-tire soles.

Some of these eco-friendly shoes will be featured on ShopIntuition.com, where the store is giving away an eco-friendly footwear basket worth $1,000 through March 26th.
