Throughout the month of October do not be surprised to see a lot of pink on the fields. In an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer the NFL has teamed up with the American Cancer Society and celebrities and have added pink splashes to uniforms, towels and equipment.
Singer and celebrity Pink was recruited by NBC to sing for Sunday Night Football called "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night." Pink graced the field wearing a lovely pink dress in her support for the NFL's campaign for breast cancer awareness.
The campaign is called "A Crucial Catch" and is focused on breast cancer awareness and stressing the importance of annual screenings especially for women over the age of 40. Coaches, referees and players will be wearing pink apparel to help promot the campaign.
All the apparel worn will be used to raise money that will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Each piece of pink apparel will be auctioned off at the NFL Auction.
From the NFL's website: "This is an issue that has directly touched the lives of so many in the NFL family, and we are committed to helping make a difference in breast-cancer prevention."
Celebrity supporters include Pink and Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie. See Fergie's support ad here at TotallyFergie.
Real men do wear pink and the NFL is proving it!

Happy Breast Cancer Awareness month!
I was thrilled to see all the guys sporting their pink! Great coverage, Linda.
I've noticed how everything is pink. What's funny is that a lot of Breast Cancer Survivors HATE all the pink stuff, and look at it as nothing more than a money making opportunity.
