Google is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Sesame Street coming up on November 10th. As many noticed today, the Google logo was changed to reflect Big Bird's legs where the normal Google L would be. This was in honor of Big Bird's birthday today.

All week Google will be showing Google Doodle's on their home page in honor of Sesame Street's 40th Anniversary. We can look forward to seeing some of our favorite muppet doodles up on the Google homepage. The muppets are very cool celebrities in the eyes of parents and children.

They have also been known to support many charities. Elmo was recently featured on a special about the economic crisis. And since Sesame Street is aired on the Public Broadcasting Network and it is only apt that the muppets are given kudos here from me, the Celebrity Charity Examiner.

The Public Broadcasting System relies on donations and contributions from the people to bring award winning programs into your home. PBS brings music, art, news, current events and local community information into your home. Your donations go to keeping Sesame Street and other family friendly, education programming alive and well.

You can donate to, sponsor a program or make a contribution in honor of Sesame Street's 40th Anniversary by visiting PBS.org.

Be sure to check out Google's homepage to see what muppet doodle will be up next. Will it be Grover tomorrow? Or Snuffleupagus? or Oscar? The only way to find out is check Google's homepage every day. Perhaps on November 10th there will be a Google Doodle of the entire muppet cast in celebration of Sesame Street's 40th Anniversary.

Happy 40th Anniversary Sesame Street!

I grew up on this show. It's awesome that Google is giving credit where credit's due.
