Heidi Klum is raising awareness about the importance of staying fit through her month-long “Heidi Klum’s Summer Run.” The event has been happening every day since June 20, 2011 and will end on July 25, 2011; which has been deemed the “Finish Line.” Today, the supermodel was joined by a large group of runners including the CEO of AOL Tim Armstrong. Heidi Klum has been tracking her Summer Run progress on her AOL Blog in order to keep her fans abreast of her progress and encourage them to join in the summer run fun.

To date, Heidi Klum’s team of runners has collectively run 18,040 miles and burned about 111,926,788 calories. Heidi Klum herself has run 116.45 miles and burned 60,002 calories over the past 33 days. Today’s event took place in Central Park, New York City in the hot, humid summer heat. Heidi Klum has encouraged her fans to join her in running every day as fun way to stay fit during the summer months.
Running is an easy form of exercise which can help combat weight issues and improve cardiovascular health. Heidi Klum’s effort to increase awareness about the importance of staying fit is a positive and important message to send the world.
Heidi Klum is using FitBit in order to trace her progress and is encouraging fans who join her to do the same. The online took tracks daily activity, calories burned, sleep quality and progress towards reaching one’s fitness goal.
Heidi Klum’s Summer Run will cross the “Finish Line” on Monday, July 25, 2011. This does not mean everyone’s fitness program should end with the event; participants are encouraged to continue daily exercise and activity in order to reach and attain their fitness goals.
