Tiger Woods Escalade wreck in the 'hood may not be first for PGA Golfer

Tiger Woods in Escalade wreck
Authorities say PGA Golfer Tiger Woods has been injured in a car wreck in Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol says the PGA star hit a fire hydrant and a tree as he pulled out of his driveway early Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, in his 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle.  Woods was taken to Health Central Hospital. It’s impossible to avoid news of Tiger Woods’ accident in his Cadillac Escalade in his private community of Windermere, near Orlando, Friday Nov. 27. He apparently smashed into a fire hydrant and had to be broken out of the vehicle by his wife, who smashed out the rear window. The superstar golfer reportedly had minor cuts and scrapes, and was treated at a local medical facility and released. Rumors are swirling of domestic issues between he and wife, Elin, over the event. It is interesting (suspicious even) that he had such a severe accident  in a neighborhood with a 25-MPH speed limit, and with a three-ton vehicle.

The wreck may not be the first in the neighborhood for Woods. Years back, the car community in Orlando was talking about a previous incident in which he crashed his Porsche Carrera GT supercar. As of now, Florida State Police report that Woods has avoided requests for them to interview him regarding the incident. Stay tuned…

About the Cadillac Escalade
Cadillac Escalade like Tiger WoodsThe Escalade launched in the late 1990s as a thinly disguised Tahoe / Yukon to compete with the Lincoln Navigator. But though still based on the Tahoe and Yukon, subsequent generations have been engineered with GM’s premium brand in mind, with long and short wheelbases in production, and even a pickup version. Thus, it has every creature comfort, plenty of power, and just enough bling to make it stand out without looking obnoxious. Up until the financial meltdown, it was one of the most popular full-size luxury SUVs industry. It’s massive 6.2-liter V8 is related to the one in a Corvette, and cranks out more than 400 horsepower to the rear wheels all four wheels through an optional all-wheel-drive system. Prices are in the $60k-70k range. Read about the Escalade hybrid.
