So, while Angelina Jolie fans have waited for a confirmation or denial of a new adoption, a denial has come from an orphanage worker in Jordan. The Jordanian orphanage SOS Children's Village was visited by Angelina Jolie recently, and this is presumably the orphanage that the adoption stories were referring to. It had been reported that Angelina Jolie was attempting to adopt a Syrian girl, or perhaps a girl in Syria who was a refugee from elsewhere.
However, a worker at SOS Children's Village said that the actress visited the orphanage, but only to play with the orphans. The worked reported that Angelina Jolie did not mention adoption at all and was merely there to support the orphanage and the children.
So, it is possible that the entire story was a tabloid-invented one that was picked up by a few legitimate sources with unfortunately gave credence to something untrue. Or, it's possible that the adoption was discussed with someone other than the one worker who has come forward with this story. We'll know the truth if she has a new orphan by her side within the next few months. If not, well, there will most likely be new rumors to read about by then.
