Delonte West
There are always plenty of rumors going around about the Cavs, which sometimes isn't such a bad thing - it simply means that they are being talked about, and in almost all circles are considered one of the top 3 teams in the NBA.
The latest rumor about the Cavs roster comes from ESPN NBA columnist Marc Stein, who seems to feel that if there's one player the Cavs could move during the 2009-2010 season, it would be guard Delonte West, who was in the team's starting lineup on a nightly basis last season.
Here's what Stein had to say about the team possibly moving West:
I've been advised by one especially knowledgeable observer not to be surprised if Delonte West is traded at some point this season, not because Cleveland is eager to part with him but because West is surely more movable from that massive Cavs payroll than Daniel Gibson.
West was one of those players that the Cavs considered "untouchable" during trade talks last year, and there even was some talk he was the player the Suns wanted when there was banter about Shaquille O'Neal during the trade talks last February. So why would the Cavs have an interest in moving West at all now?
Last season West put up 11.7 points per game, 3.5 assists and averaged 33.6 minutes per game. Could this rumor have anything to do with the pickup of Anthony Parker? Right now Parker, who is 34, is the likely candidate to come off the bench to spell West during games. Maybe the Cavs think Parker can be placed in the starting lineup if they move West?
And if they do try and move West, and succeed, what will the team get in return? Once again, plenty of questions, and when it comes to rumors like this, there's usually little answers until it happens.

I will never know as much about the game/trades/team as much as those who make these decisions...but as a cavs fan, I have always been such a fan of how much heart Delonte has put into his game and Cleveland. As if that wasn't enough-he is one of our best defenders and still handled point when he had to.
If we move Delonte-we better get something special in return...not only matching the ability of Delonte, but his amazing character as well.
I really hope that there's little, if any, substance to this rumor.
Not only can he hit the three consistently, Delonte West is the team's best perimeter defender, which allows Lebron to conserve his energy for the fourth. Dude can post up smaller guards, make plays for others when called upon to do so, and when everything seems to be falling apart for the team, he goes to work. Add all of this to his tremendous heart, unselfishness as a teammate, good chemistry with Lebron, more than reasonable contract and you get a guy who is absolutely indespensable.
Varejao and West for Bosh....the numbers line up
