It’s kitten season, and that means D.C. area shelters and foster homes are full to overflowing with cats and kittens looking for forever homes. The Montgomery County Humane Society (MCHS) currently has many adoptable cats in their shelter and many more in foster care. MCHS is also running a Purrfect Pairs adoption special in July. Throughout the month, adopters can take home two shelter or foster cats over 6 months old and pay just one adoption fee (the microchipping fees must still be paid for both cats).
Among the cats currently in foster care are Hero and Eros (pictured above), a pair of brothers who are about a year old. These two boys are best pals and have spent their whole lives together, so they’d prefer to be adopted together. Hero and Eros are neutered and are both perfect gentlemen who can get along with children, dogs, and other cats. For more information, contact their foster, Lisa, at Lis332@aol.com.

Two handsome black cats named Amazing and Wonderful (at right) make up another ready-made feline family. Amazing and Wonderful are both males, about a year old, who are neutered and ready to be adopted. They were given up to the shelter when their former family brought home a new baby. Their foster caregiver reports that they are both affectionate, good-natured purr machines who can get along with children and dogs. To learn more about Amazing and Wonderful, contact their foster, Lisa, at Lis332@aol.com.
