Some cats and dogs in Montgomery County will be getting an after-Christmas treat this year, thanks to a private donor and the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County. The Chompers Food Fund will distribute 1,000 pounds of free pet food to county residents who are having a hard time affording food for their pets.
The distribution will take place on Sunday, December 26, in the parking lot at 18959 Bonanza Way in Gaithersburg. The hours of the event are from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In case of bad weather, the snow date will be January 2, 2011.
Participants must show proof of county residence and will be required to register on site with their name, address, and phone number.
