Cat naptime gets a lift with new SnoozePal from Cat Above

SnoozePal Cat Hammock-in-a-Box

Being a cat must be hard work. Why else would our fascinating felines require frequent energy-renewing catnaps to keep going throughout the day? Now cat naptime just got a boost with the introduction of the new SnoozePal Cat Hammock-in-a-Box from Cat Above out of Wilmington, N.C.

Cat Above founder Tamar Gilad came up with the idea for the SnoozePal while volunteering with the Cat Adoption Team in Wilmington, which maintains an adoption center at the local PetSmart store. The adoption center had hammocks for the cats in the cages. Not only did the cats love the hammocks, potential adopters were always asking where they could get them. Since the hammocks were attached to each end of the cage, Gilad saw an opportunity for something free standing.

The new SnoozePal answers the need for a free-standing cat hammock. It’s made of heavy-duty cardboard, enclosing a comfy hammock for a cat to get into and snuggle. This design gives the cat an elevated spot off the ground; porthole windows enable it to keep watch on its surroundings. The cat hammock box is extremely durable and it's hard, smooth surface discourages scratching.

Cat hammock with wood stand

Cat Above also offers a premium cat hammock with a wood stand for the even more discriminating kitty. This hammock is handmade of 100 percent hardwood. It is both sturdy and lightweight and can easily be moved around the house to accommodate your cat’s desire to be where it wants -- by your sliding glass doors, in a sunny spot, in the bedroom, or near the radiator.

You can find out more information or purchase either one of the hammocks at www.catabove.com.

Gilad also is offering a fund raising opportunity for animal rescue groups. Groups can obtain a unique discount coupon code from Cat Above to send to their supporters. The coupon entitles the buyer to a $5 discount off either hammock and the rescue organization gets $5 for each hammock purchased. Interested rescue group can contact Cat Above at rescue@catabove.com.

Ed,here is an answer from Cat Above:

Most cats take to the hammock right away. We've even had reports from customers that the cat jumped in before the hammock was completely set up! Some cats are extremely cautious with new, unfamiliar things and have to be put into the hammock a number of times before they take to it. One customer reported her cat would not go in, but after we discussed how to introduce the hammock, the cat started using it. All-in-all cats love the hammock and you can see customer comments on our website.
