NCIS: Nutty Christian Insult Series?
I borrowed the title of this from We The People . org and the article linked above.
Why? In a recent episodes of NCIS called Faith and it's spinoff NCIS: Los Angeles called Brimstone , political correctness comes full circle...almost. In both episodes the shows portray Christians acting suspiciously like Muslim extremists.
It has cause quite an uproar :
Comments from the NCIS video page: "Faith?... oh my, let's try renaming this episode to ... Political Correctness to the Death. I have been a huge fan of NCIS but this episode has put a very bad taste in my mouth. The producers have obviously not been following the news here (in Texas, Ohio, Florida) and abroad. Honor killings are not done within Christian families; it is Muslims who kill their family members for converting, for divorcing, for dating a non-Muslim, anything that brings dishonor to the family. This episode is blatantly full of lies and oozes with syrupy (to the point of nausea) political correctness. The producers have clearly chosen to sacrifice the truth for the sake of lies so it begs the question ... for what purpose?? I do hope this is not the beginning of an anti-Christian propaganda machine via NCIS. If it is, I will certainly stop watching and encourage others to do the same. Oh, and by the way, the Middle East will love this episode! As the producers are fully aware, the media has the power to indoctrinate people's minds and they have just acted irresponsibly by adding fuel to the fire of persecution of Arab believers in Christ. Yeah, you've just given the Muslims abroad another reason to kill their fellow Arabs. Oh but wait, Gibbs said, it's the same God. Really? Then why do the Muslim Arabs kill their fellow Christian Arabs if they worship the same God as the Muslims do?? One reason I have watched NCIS was the integrity of justice portrayed. This whole episode betrayed that integrity. This episode is a lie and a disgrace. "
I would have to agree with this assessment. Now no one has ever accused the entertainment industry of being truthful and honest. Actually that s what fiction is...a highly structured "lie" meant to seem real. The problem here is that mass televising media is turning the truth on it's head in a such rapid fire way that the truth is hard to discern. When the networks will not cover Islamic extremism honestly, when our nations so called leaders turn from fighting a "war on terror" to an "overseas contingency", to this portrayal Christians of as honor killers? There is something extremely underhanded in switching these religious philosophies.
In an article on the strange phenomenon of the media swapping "religious ID's" Mike Sargent writes:
"The issue with this is clear: I have yet to see a report citing a Christian suicide bomber, or a Christian honor-killing, anywhere in the world. And while not all Muslims are terrorists hell-bent on killing all non-Muslims, an inordinate amount of terrorists are Muslims. Nor are these terrorists particularly upset with a lack of acceptance of Muslims by the Christian West – in fact, the issue seems to be more based non-religious points. In the end, equating Christians to extremist Muslims is more than a stretch – it’s intellectually dishonest.
Of course, with the rest of CBS being in ratings shambles, I probably should not have underestimated their ability to screw this up too. Political correctness may have just claimed another good show."
Brace yourself for more of this. Disquising the "religion of peace" as the religion of the Prince of Peace is the new devil's trick.
