Bay Area featured cats for adoption this week

Elsa

Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA

Elsa is a 1.5 year old White and Calico Domestic Shorthair female. She is a gorgeous kitty with a quiet activity level. Her personality is calm, independent, shy, cautious, reserved, and quiet. She is seeking an indoor/outdoor home with a new owner who has some previous pet experience. Her new home should have no other cats or dogs. Children 10 and up are okay. If you like the thought of a beautiful and demure lady cat joining your household, be sure to ask for Elsa, ID# A467345.

Handsome Dan

Handsome Dan is a 1-year old altered male Domestic Short Hair. He is small and cute and full of energy. He gets along with other cats, but would do best in a home with other younger playful cats, or as an only cat because his kitten antics make him pesky to older cats. He is a bit overwhelmed at the shelter and can be shy when he first meets you. Once he warms up, you will see his true sparkling personality. Please come meet Handsome Dan and ask for ID A457161.

PHS/SPCA is open for adoptions Monday through Friday, 11am to 7pm, and weekends from 11am to 6pm. It is located at 12 Airport Blvd., San Mateo next to Coyote Point Park. Visit www.PHS-SPCA.org or call 650-340-7022

Boogie

Marin Humane Society

Boogie is a 1-year-old spayed female. A Reubenesque beauty, Boogie has at least 2 New Year's resolutions; find her forever home and regain her svelte figure. This shy girl has lived well as an indoor cat with other cats and a dog. Although initially withdrawn, we think that given time and patience this formerly feral cat will warm up and let her affectionate nature shine through. She is young, sweet, gentle and easy to handle, but just a little overwhelmed here at the shelter. Boogie would like nothing more than a quiet home to call her own with kindly folks to love her and give her the exercise and food portion control needed to help those excess pounds disappear. Are you the one to help her achieve her goals? You will be rewarded with a lifetime of love and companionship. Best in a home with grade school age children or older.

Stripes

Stripes is a 3-year-old neutered male. Until recently Stripes has been a 'man about town' up near Yuba City. Although technically homeless, he befriended a variety of people, especially one lady who invited him into her house for meals and companionship. He liked to follow her about and even enjoyed being carried. Now we would love to see Stripes settled into a permanent home of his very own with a window perch, comfy beds, and a steady source of companionship. This independent guy may take a bit of time to open up, so please be patient. In time, Stripes will leave his hobo days behind, and become a pampered pussycat. Best in a home with adults only

The Marin Humane Society is located at 171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd, Novato. The Adoption Center is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Visit www.marinhumanesociety.org or call 415-883-4621 for more information.
