Comet, 9 year old, neutered male, is an affectionate and gentle cat who loves to receive whisker rubs and give head nudges. He also enjoys being groomed, which will be a daily necessity to keep his soft fur free of tangles. Comet's tail will often quiver as he checks out his environment, but this is nothing to be concerned about. Consider this to be part of his charm! Comet lived with dogs and cats in his prior home, and may do fine with them again, given proper introductions. His favorite companions, though, are humans, and don't be surprised if this handsome boy wants to follow you everywhere! Best in a home with grade school age children or older.
Boo, a 2-year old, neutered male, is a "go go go" type of cat. He wants to explore his environment before he says "hello". Not to say he is not a lap cat, he just needs to get to know you first. His previous owners had him mainly as an outside cat, so he is not used to people being interested or loving on him. Boo is an intelligent cat and could easily be taught cat tricks such as 'sit' or 'high five'. Boo can over stimulate at times, which means Boo can get too excited about being stroked or brushed and he could react suddenly. MHS recommends that Boo gets plenty of exercise with different want toys (a stick with a string toy attached.) Also environmental enrichment in your home will give Boo things to explore. It won’t take long for him to see how fun and wonderful having a loving family can be. Best in a home with high school age children or older.

Trixie is the divinely beautiful 4-year-old altered female calico. She was in foster care while caring for her kittens, who have since been adopted. Her foster mom reports she was a wonderful mommy and now would like a home of my own where she can be cared for like a baby. She can be shy at first, especially at the shelter but she is very friendly and loving once she gets to know you and is in a home environment. She would prefer a quieter home, so kids in the home should be 10 and up. She also would like a dog- free home but have gotten along well with other cats in her foster home so should do fine with resident felines. She loves playing with toy mice! Her ID number is: A475232.
Smokey is a 1.5-year-old altered male with Lynx Point Siamese and white coloring. He is friendly, gentle, and tolerant so he can be adopted by a first time pet owner or a family with children. Shelter is not sure how he will get along with resident animals. He’ll need to be kept indoors only. Ask for Smokey. His ID number is: A470909.
