Stock Market News 2009 - US based casino companies and the future

What a year for US based casinos in the Stock Market, after 12 months of toughing out some the lowest stock prices and low player turnout; 2009 is almost at a close and it appears that the worst is over.

Moving in to the New Year companies like (LVS)-Las Vegas Sands Corp. who will without a doubt complete the year higher that it began, Sands stock had dropped to $7.09 and many investors were concerned about the well being of the company.

Now, as the year closes, Sands stock has rebounded as well as can be expected with the economic conditions. Sands' stock price is $15.33 entering the final week of trading this year.

The restart of projects in Singapore and Macau with the help of an Asian IPO that brought in over $3 billion in funds also helped to give investors much needed hope for the future of the company.

Addition US based casino companies entering the final week of 2009 are looking to complete a nice turnaround. MGM Mirage stock is $9.50, and (WYNN)-Wynn Resorts is trying to climb its way over the $60 a share figure. Currently, Wynn stock is at $59.39. Wynn also had an Asian IPO earlier this Fall.

(MGM)-MGM Mirage saw the completion of its new $8.5 billion CityCenter project an 18 million-square-foot complex spread over 67 aces and complete with the all new Aria Casino Hotel, this project is the largest ever in Las Vegas history and costs about 3 times more than the Wynn Las Vegas did back in 2005.
