Peppers will play for Carolina in 2009

After months of talking about Julius Peppers the speculation has now ended. Panthers starting defensive end has confirmed on Friday that he will be playing for Carolina in the 2009 season.

The Carolina star notified teammates via text message that he will be present when the Panthers' start there training camp on August 2nd in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He has not been completely out of football just because he has not been with the team. Earlier in the offseason he reported that he will be working out in Arizona and that is where he has been for months now.

The fact that he will be coming back is great news for the Panthers, who will be defending their NFC South Championship this year after going 12-4 last season.

Peppers, who was franchised this year will make over 16 million this year. Making him the highest paid defensive player this year.

Even with Peppers coming back, I still think that the defense still needs alot of work. With Meeks now at the helm as defensive coordinator we could see a quick turn around. I do think that if Peppers would of been with the team earlier it would help the overall flow and Peppers would of had the chance to know the new coordinator. Even with that said you will not see Carolina's defensive unit on my fantasy roster any time soon.

I can't believe what Peppers is doing and putting the team through. I hope that this is his last season playing for us.
