Packers trade LS Jansen to Panthers for conditional draft pick

Only picture I could find

The Green Bay Packers traded long snapper J.J. Jansen to Carolina on Monday 4/13 for a conditional 2011 seventh-round draft pick, possibly signaling the end of veteran Jason Kyle's who has been at that position for the past eight years.

Jason Kyle has never messed up a regular season snap, but the Panthers don’t have the cap room to re-sign him because of the Julius Peppers situation. General manager Marty Hurney said that they could possibly still re-sign Jason Kyle later in the offseason.

If the Panthers were to trade Peppers it would free up almost $17 million in cap room. Peppers is still yet to sign his one-year tender under his franchise tag. If Jansen does make the team the Panthers would have to give up a 7th round pick in 2011.

Jansen was undrafted out of Notre Dame last year and was supposed to replace Green Bay’s current long snapper. Jansen did have a torn ligament in his left knee in the Packers’ final preseason game and was placed on IR.
