There has been a lot of controversy about the resigning of Jake Delhomme, especially after his six turnover performance against the Cardinals in the playoffs. No matter what we think as fans Jake was coming back no matter what. Where I have a issue is the fact that they have not brought in any free agents or rookies as a insurance policy. It would be healthy to have some competition at the QB spot, if there is a issue the Panthers have Matt Moore to fall back on.
I am not sure that Delhomme is the long term answer for the team. After all of those turnovers in the playoffs, he gets rewarded with a big long term contract. Even though he is in his mid thirties and plays good, not great he is the only man in John Fox wants for the job. Fox knows that the Panthers are a run first team and will do so on the first two downs and leave it up to Delhomme on third downs. Which does put a lot of pressure on a QB, and makes his job a little more difficult. With that said does he deserve the contract that he got?
I think that Jake is a great leader for the team and a lot of players look up to him, you never hear about him not getting along with fellow teammates. I remember when they played San Diego in week 1 last year and he made that pass at the end of the game that won it for the Panthers, and possibly got them into the playoffs. With that said Jake has games where he looks awful but he has that ability to bounce back from week to week and still play well.
Tell me what you think, are you happy with them resigning Jake Delhomme?

Im Ok with jake as a starter for the next season but he's not the answer for the next couple of years.... We need a quicker thinking quarter back. He just hold the ball too long...
Jake had a great year last year (with the exception of one game). In the regular season, he only had 7 interceptions, which is statistically his best year ever. He is a perfect compliment to the running game, which is undoubtebly the strength of the offense. Get off his back, he'll be fine this year.
I'm kinda like Brett in that we need to get behind Jake and forget about the one game (i was there)that kept us from the big dance last season. We have got some worries if Jake goes down...Matt Moore showed us he could play a few times last season and I am excited about the signing of Hunter Cantwell from Louisville. I believe the Panthers will have another great season and lets hope back in the playoff picture this season. A lot of new Coaches were signed on so let's see how they preform as well.
Jake will not take the Panthers to the Super Bowl. The defense may get them close, but this offense is like Trent Dilfer's Ravens. Solid run game with nothing else.
Hell yeah, that contract should have nver been offered. Jake sucks! If he throws one interception, he will throw another and another. He and John Fox needs to be released. Bring in Cowher baby!
Man...I'm still licking the wounds from that game against the Cardinals. That didn't make any sense...whatsoever!
And for that reason alone I don't feel that he should have been signed with so much. I mean, who can blame Julius for wanting to leave!? That was soooo unfair for people like Stewart, Williams, Smith, and Pepp...
I mean don't get me wrong, I still love Jake to death. I just feel that...I don't think we're going to get far with him anymore. He's a good player. He just needs to know what the word consistency means.
give jake a break.he had one bad game.I feel he will prove his self to everyone this season and take the panthers all the way!!
Jake SUCKS Period!!!!!!!!
