Workout at home, the advantages

There are several things about going to the club that people like, a gym, a pool, more equipment, and more people to socialize with, but if you want to get the best workout in the least amount of time, a workout at home is better and more efficient.

Almost everyone is busy now and going to the gym to workout is something that is easy to put off if you just can’t squeeze it in. A workout at home can be split up into different parts for different days so you can really get a good workout at home in no more than 45 minutes per day. By the time you drive to the gym, change into your workout clothes, workout, shower and change back into other clothes and drive home, you could be looking at 2 hours or more, that’s more that twice as long as a workout at home will take you, that is a lot of time to try to squeeze into a busy day.

The cost of a workout at home can be much, much less. You can workout at home for free to very inexpensive. You can start a program of walking or running for cardio and do body weight exercises for a weight training workout at home. If you want to do more than with body weight exercises, you can get exercise bands for a reasonable cost, and you can buy dumbbells as you need them and work into heavier ones.  Many experts feel that you get a better muscle workout from free weight exercises because of added range of motion than you get from machines.  A free weight workout is what you get when you workout at home.

Health concerns are another consideration in if you should workout at home. Gym equipment is never sanitized properly; there is just no way to do it. Every time someone touches a barbell or dumbbell or machine handle, they are putting germs on that surface that the next people that touch it will pick up. If you then touch your face you get the germs into your body. Some of the germs passed could be germs that you don’t want any part of.  This is an issue that you don't have to worry about if you workout at home.

When you workout at home, you can move from one exercise to the next with no wait. At a gym you can spend considerable time waiting for others to get done over the course of a workout if you go at busy times. I frequently go from one exercise to the next of a different body part with no break. For example, do bench press and then go directly to crunches then back to bench then to crunches, etc. This will eliminate the rest time between so your heart rate stays elevated.

The biggest advantage of a workout at home is that you can focus on your workout and none of the other distractions that are at the health club. The increased focus will give you a better workout in less time and help you get in shape faster or stay in shape. Anything that you do that has a lot of distractions is going to be less efficient and effective. Health clubs have a lot of distractions that you just can’t avoid.

If you have a busy schedule and fitting a workout into it is hard to do, try a workout at home, you can get a better more intense workout in less time and for less money, and that is what most people want and need.
