Tiger Woods workout secrets

People generally don't think of golfers as great athletes. Most of them don't look like great athletes. Tiger Woods is an exception. For many years Tiger Woods  workout was a mystery, no one knew what his workout was, there was lots of speculation, but no one knew for sure. In 2007 Tiger Woods let everyone know what he did for a workout to get in the shape he's in.

The secret is exactly what you would think it is. He spends many hours in the gym doing his workout. When people see him on tour, they see him workout and he does 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weight training with lighter weights and high reps, nothing special. The workout Tiger Woods used to put on 30 pounds of muscle is much different.

He starts with 30 minutes of cardio workout to warm up on a stationary bike. He then goes through 30 minutes of stretching with a trainer working on core muscles. The core is one of the most important things to work on for a golf swing.

Tiger Woods then goes through a core workout where he does lighter weights, doing exercises on a exercise ball to work on core and balance. Seated curls on a ball and dumbbell bench press on a ball are both excellent core strengthening and work on arms and shoulders.

After that Tiger Woods runs 7 miles for endurance training, and then 3 miles for speed training. This will keep him from getting tired with the long days of walking in some very hot and humid weather that they play in in the summer in the south.

After all that comes the weight training. Most of his weight training workout is done with lighter weights for higher reps. He wants to be strong but not overly muscular. There is also a much greater chance of injury if using heavy weights. He can't afford shoulder or arm injuries.

If you have 5 to 6 hour per day to work out, you can workout like Tiger Woods. Most people don't have that kind of time. What you can do is use the same principles and ideas that he uses to get similar results in a lot less time. The key is to keep it mixed up and vary what you do, and stick with it. The best workout there is, is the one that you stick with.
