As someone that is from New Brunswick I felt it was only appropriate to begin my day at SCENE Fest by seeing The Motorleague. The punk band hails from Moncton and the video for "Hymn For The Newly Departed", from their album 'Black Noise', features many familiar faces from the NB music scene.
The band put on one hell of a show playing a setlist full of catchy songs. How catchy? Well, check out their MySpace page and just try not to have those tunes stuck in your head for days. The thing I like about The Motorleague's music is that it's so damn refreshing. They've managed to mix a raw sound with the right amount of melody. The best part about it is that they can deliver it live perfectly. Do yourself a favour: buy their album and check them out when they hit your town.
