The reality stars of Jon & Kate Plus 8 have come to a final divorce agreement that will see the marriage dissolved by the end of the year. TMZ is reporting that Kate Gosselin will get primary custody of their eight children. We are told that Jon did not contest the custody issue but that the couple were very far apart on how their assets would be decided.
The agreement, reached yesterday, at an arbitrator hearing was not without Jon's misguided showmanship. Jon greeted the Entertainment Tonight cameras with a bouquet of roses and a love note for Kate. Jon divulged, even though his lawyer had everyone sign non-disclosure agreements, that the note says that he loves their children, a part of him will always love Kate, and he will never let any harm come to her. Kate Gosselin was seen leaving the hearing without the roses.
This news comes just one day before the final episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 that will air tomorrow night on TLC. TLC is billing it, as the last time you will see them all together. It is a very sad conclusion to TLC's most popular show.
Jon Gosselin seemed to reach some sort of boiling point and melted down in full view of the public in May of this year. His erratic behavior shocked many and drew the laser focus of the tabloid magazines. In that harsh glare we saw Jon change from a fun loving Dad to a biker dude and jet setting womanizer who seemed to leave nothing but controversy and harm in his wake.
The droopy red roses were a sad commentary on Jon's attempts at redeeming himself not only in public but with his estranged wife and family. Apologies were often laced with lies and barbs at not only his wife but his children. During what was dubbed the, Rabbi apology tour, Jon told the world his children don't validate him and that he was stuck back at the mansion doing duties that he expected his wife to do.
We have also seen great hypocrisy in Jon's behavior. His most stunning moment was when he suddenly decided to pull his children from any filming with TLC, just weeks after he had staunchly denied they were being harmed in anyway and signing a divorce document that allowed both him and Kate to make filming decisions on their own. Within days, of Jon stating the filming was harming his children, he is seen allowing Entertainment Tonight film his kids as they get off the bus and head home for the Twins birthday party.
During Jon's appearance on the Larry King show, Larry reads from a TLC statement that says Jon never formerly requested that the show be stopped, only, that he be released from the exclusivity of his contract and be given a motorcycle that was built especially for him. Jon seemed more concerned about the motorcycle and his relationship with Hailey Glassman than his childen's welfare. In addition, Jon seemed to have no problem allowing a member of the paparazzi onto his property to take pictures of his children. Jon is now being sued by TLC for breach of contract.
While Kate Gosselin is to get her own show on TLC this spring, we are not sure what the future holds for Jon Gosselin. His 22 year old girlfriend has dumped him, promising to write a tell all book about the compulsive liar she was dating. His lawyer and manager who are father and son, Mark Heller and Mike Heller, seem to be steering Jon into the abyss. A future TV career may not be possible, with Jon being in breach of contract and now counter suing TLC for five million dollars, what network would take the risk? In that legal filing there is no mention of any harm actually being done to his children because of the filming, only that some paperwork with shooting permits may be an issue.
With the holidays coming, Jon was supposed to spend it with his now ex-girlfriend. We can only hope that Kate takes some pity on the father of her children and finds a way for the family to enjoy the holidays together as divorced parents.

I like your articles - they're articulate, accurate, and well researched. I do however take issue with your last sentence. Jon deserves NO pity, he is an ass and does not even care about being with the kids unless he can make money off of them. Keep him away so the kids can have a nice holiday.

Yet they say that they never say anything nasty about Jon. I saw the rest of what went with that post and it was horrible. The Radar clueless also think that the "haters" are on there deleting a lot of their comments. No one can do that except a Radar admin. Fools!

How very strange that the Kate haters have latched onto the word "sheeple" and assign it to anybody who they perceive to disagree with their hatred towards her. By definition, a sheeple is "An individual that forfits their right to choose in favor of inclusion in groupthink......Those who follow triends blindly. Portmanteau of "sheep" and "people", derived as sheep follow their flock and shepherd seemingly mindlessly."
From what I've seen on GWOP and Moon's blog etc., the haters are the most sheeple-like group of people I have ever witnessed. How ironic!

She has even said...I used to not like my fans..thought they were weird, and didn't want them near me. She sure didn't mind collecting the gifts and money. The only reason she says she likes them now is because the PR team told her to be nice to them even though she doesn't like them..how GD blind can one get????

I bet Jon commits suicide. He's lost pretty much everything. For him to give up all rights to custody, he must feel pretty low. (As he should.) I think I even remember him saying that Kate and the kids would be better off if he was dead.

That's funny...we hate our lives?? I happen to love my life and I still don't like Khate! I think she has exposed her kids to a very nasty and very public divorce from their father, whom they happen to love, and if it were up to her, she would continue the show...she has no choice but to stop it. Khate has no talent and she and TLC both know this..that is why they are out to destroy Jon..he is the one who took their little money makers away from them...so sad!

Pevan, you can see it in his eyes. Jon realizes what he has lost. Look how he brought Kate the roses. I bet he wishes he could have her back. I bet he misses his old family life. Kate might get a show but how long will it last. We are not interested in anything that she has to say. TLC and K have forced lawsuits on J which will prevent him from earning a living. If he can't make good wages and K can't sustain her own show owing to lack of popularity or just even likableness, then her world will crumble thanks to her own actions.
How will K support that mansion? J will never make enough to give her $5000 a mo for mortgage or half the other expenses. J will not make enough to pay $3500 a mo for private school. K's world will crumble. Her mansion will have to go. She will not be able to afford the staff. Her only hope is that Steve will still warm her bed once she is penniless.
I see it coming, I hope not. The holidays are a time for reflection on happy days past, present and future. Unfortunately for many it is a time of despair. Maybe Jon will have a true "Epiphany" and turn his life around. Suicide is a cowardly act. For once let's hope he braves the new year like a man and turns his life around.

Good points in this article. One note on the roses, he got the color wrong...or did he? Red roses mean "love and desire", if the message he was looking to send was friendship, that's what yellow roses are for. He really should stop taking advice from either Heller, neither one is too bright, and the cheesy tie-ins eg. War of the Roses are really dumb. To the commenter who noted what Jon will NOT be able to afford...you're right. That's why the judge is going to award all the assets to the kids, they earned them right? Invested wisely those funds can last until they are grown. Hope Jon doesn't have a long lease on that NYC apt. He could never afford it in the first place. Just wait for all the hate when the money does not go to Jon, the irrational bloggers will blame it on Kate. Jon did this all to himself. He deserves exactly what is coming his way. Isn't that interesting that when ever the polls are done on the entertainment sites and the choice between who is a better parent ALWAYS is Kate by a whopping majority. The comment boards on these very same sites basically are a place where these people who are so obviously green with jealousy and almost like KKK minds, words and actions just go in masses and pretend to be a dozen people posting one hate comment after another about a woman they pretend to know. Yet the support a husband whose decadent lifestyle is an embarrassment to the majority and who has consistenly been voted the worse this and that and yet these mind controlled haters support him. A leopard doesn't change it's spots and the Jon you see now is the Jon he really was. It was a fake Jon behind the cameras on TLC and the real Kate on cameras. Yet they adore this man. From their foul language, and overwhelming hatred of Kate speaks volumes as to their character. Takes one to know one as they say.

This is truly Kate's chance to shine and enjoy life with her family. Children get us through a lot. They are peppy, free-spirited,and love to have fun, so I believe that this will be a wonderful time for them. Fast forward: Down side to this is when ALL of them leave at the same time. Nothing like feeling the "empty nest" syndrome. I know how that feels. Enjoy them now and be happy. Jon was a good part of their lives. He just took a different path and Kate is the better parent to continue the plan. He just gave her another opportunity to shine and look at life differently. She is strong and those kids are going to be just fine. He will feel the pain of all of this in his own way. He was young, still is, and Kate needs a man. If Angelina Jolie can have 6 or maybe even 7 by now, why couldn't Kate have a partner in life as well? I wish her a happy life with those kids. I would do it all over again just like she is.
