Kate Gosselin and Elin Nordegren are showing us they are strong women who are creating loving homes despite wayward husbands. If you are looking for male role models both Jon Gosselin and now Tiger Woods are not examples. However, if you are looking for strong female role models take a good look at both Kate Gosselin and Elin Nordegren.
Elin Nordegren was taking care of business and taking the dogs for a ride, just a few days after her husband's accident . She was recently seen getting gas, while taking her children and family to a Christmas Party. We have not seen Tiger since he wrapped his SUV around a tree. He did manage to put together a press release, no doubt written by a professional that did say a few kind words about his wife. In 2007, Tiger reportedly missed his daughter Sam's baptism to attend a charity event.
Reality star, Kate Gosselin, now has primary custody of her children, has found herself another job after Jon had a hissy fit and stopped the show, when his name was taken off the title. We doubt, he bothered to tell Kate she would suddenly have no income to feed their eight children. This, after he took $180 grand out of the family bank account and had to be forced to put it back by a judge. Jon could not be bothered to show up to his court date with their former employer.
Women are without a doubt the keepers of home. While men are running around puffing up their egos and collecting trophy's, these women, are planning birthday parties and wiping snotty noses. Worrying about school clothes, Christmas decorations and school tuitions. They are planning family get togethers and keeping their minds focused firmly on their children.

Sorry, but don't see how you can compare Elin Nordegren and Kate Gosselin. Why is it that so many journalists fail to acknowledge that Kate Gosselin sought to end the marriage and reportedly refused to attend therapy sessions with her estranged husband or to even consider reconciliation? Admittedly, Jon has acted like a 15 year old boy, but this was after the couple seperated. Jon Gosselin did not humiliate kate Gosselin by seeing other women while they were still together - yet everyone actls like he's a cold hearted philanderer. Kate Gosselin gave him carte blanche. She got what she deserved.

Minnie is SO right!!! There is NO way anyone should have Elin Nordegren and Kate Gosselin in the same story! How can you compare a classy woman like Elin to a shrewd fame whore like Kate? Jon was the "keeper of the home" for two years while Kate was on the road for weeks on end on her book signing jaunts signing a book she takes credit for writing without ever giving credit to her co-writer and former friend Beth Carson.
Did you see loving Kate tossing the twin's belongs down the stairs when she arrived home after dropping all the kids off for their first day of school? That must have made the twins feel all warm and cozy and loved.
And another loving Kate moment was when she put one of the sick boys in the laundry room to lie on the floor and vomit in the dark. Very loving indeed.
There are so many more, and they're ALL on tape for anyone to see. You can say she provides a loving home but the cameras don't lie. Two-bit bloggers do though.

Jealous of Kate Gosselin, please. I'm not about to publicize my personal life, but that I should envy Kate Gosselin anything - either emotionally or materially - is laughable. Kate Gosselin and her destructive narcissism is a blight on the American landscape. Her morally bankrupt behavior, unfortunately, has far reaching consequences - far more important and insidious than any divorce scandal.

NO COMPARISON!! Elin is by far a CLASS ACT! Elin takes care of her children, has close family ties with her extended family, stays away from the media, and most importantly was adamant about maintaining her family's privacy. KG hires help to take care of her children AND has cut off her relationships with most of her extended family members. Elin is by far LIGHT YEARS ahead of KG.
I agree with Ella, someone should compile a timeline of KG's actual time with her children and family. I'm sure the results will be VERY interesting.

well written rachel. i dont think many people who post trash comments about kate have actually watched everything from the beginning and actually had firsthand knowledge irl of many of the issues involved. alot of those posters are tabloid bandwagoners who just started mouthing off this year like rubberneckers staring at a freeway car accident.
i appreciate the articles you write because it is obvious you do more research into what you write about rather than just repeating and creating tabloid-oriented drama. kate has faced alot of difficult issues and i know from personal experience with many of the same problems that there were many many factors that must have weighed heavily in her heart while trying to make the best decisions.
That is absolute rubbish, Twinsmom. I have seen every episode, save one or two, and followed this story in the press from the get-go. Not because I was enamored of Kate Gosselin, but because I was, after the first season, absolutely appalled. Unlike most of the pro-Kate camp, I have read the local newspaper articles from the first 18 months of the sextuplets life, and once you've read them, it's impossible to drink the TLC cool aid. I have posted many facts (go check them) about the Gosselin parents' behaviour - and no one here has been able or willing to challenge me on any one of the specific issues I've raised. Interesting.
Are you for real? These two women couldn't be more opposite. Kate threw her husband out and he complied by finding comfort in the arms of several pretty young women. Elin was the victim of her husbands celebrity. Tiger probably should not have married until he was ready to commit. He cheated because famous men think they can, Jon cheated because his hag wife encouraged him to.
Elin is a complete class act. She hasn't run to the tv interviewers to bash the father of her children. She has not kept the ring on "for the sake of the children." She is private and keeps her own counsel. She isn't complaining about the stack of bills in her pocketbook but rather went and purchased a home in Sweden to be with her family during this horrible time. Kate probably doesn't remember where her own mother lives. Kate is a fame crazed maniac more interested in pretending she has a future in the movies or on tv. I am so jealous of Kate, I even have to read about her in the daily paper and stalk her. I appear like I hate her, but I am just jealous that she was paid on TV to parent, takes care of her family and herself, and here I sit, I let myself go, I gave up chances to make money for my kids so I could sit on my lard butt and hate on Kate for years. Kate is one of the strongest women i know--and by the way, I DO know her! She is a very hared worker--unlike Jon who does nothing but spend money. She does everything for her kids--they are the loves of her life. SHE DID not TRY TO HAVE 6 kids at once--she was crying on the phone when she called me to tell me how many they saw on the ultrsound. But she loves them all so much--she is like a mother tiger and will defend and take care of them
with her last breath. Jon does NOTHING for them.

I think Kate has more in common with the ladies trying to cash in on the Tiger situation then with Elin. Elin hasn't said a peep as far as I know.
