Camden County & NJ: on property taxes, corruption, and real choices in November

Norcross...he who must be obeyed

According to a recent report by Jim Walsh in the Courier-Post, Camden County residents can take pride in being number one. That’s right folks, we pay the highest rate of property taxes in the state. Now who said that an all-Democratic governance couldn’t succeed? In fact, the dunces, cronies, and criminals that run Camden County have not only taken the top prize in the state of New Jersey, but they have nearly managed to crack the top ten in the nation itself. Camden County now comes in at number eleven when placed nationwide. That’s including counties in Massachusetts, New York and California folks. Additionally, our state also took home the top prize nationally for property taxes. Camden County clearly had a large hand in that, and for that, we owe our all-Democratic leadership a round of applause. Aren’t you proud to be a Garden state resident?

This is why the people of this county and this state need to wake up and take back their government. There are some really good local candidates running for office. These folks are not lifelong politicians and power-hungry crooks. They are not folks who think government knows best about everything. They are folks with enough common sense and courage to look around at the dilapidation, failure, ineptitude and corruption around us and call out the powerful liberal establishment on it. They are willing to put in the hard work to run for election despite the odds being against them. They are willing to take the attacks and humiliation that beset those folks who actually believe in personal liberty and freedom. They need Camden County residents to join them in the quest to reform New Jersey. It is a call often unheeded by the “see no evil, hear no evil” dwellers of the state’s gold standard county of property taxes. Apathy and defeatism rule the day in Camden County where despots run rampant without accountability. Everyone say hello to George Norcross. Now, sign your check over to him. Good residents.

For Camden County and indeed for New Jersey, 2009 is a time for choosing.

For one, they have the option of choosing Scott Moran for Camden County Clerk. Scott is a serious candidate with a strong private sector background. Moran’s campaign has been pursuing an agenda of streamlining and expediting the County governance through technology and transparency. His opponent in the race is Kelly Ripa’s Dad. Mr. Ripa has been part of the corrupt Democratic machine grinding Camden County into the ground by sheer force of their money and power. As a member of the ruling Norcross dynasty, Ripa represents a candidate who cannot or will not stand up to the corruption and outright failure of the unanimous Democratic leadership. He is also the proud President of the Jon Corzine Fan Club. Moran, on the other hand, has a vision for the future in a county that has been seriously lacking in vision for decades. Moran has ideas for major reform. “Ideas” and “reform” might sound like frightening words to corrupt political bosses, powerful unions, and criminals, but not to the everyday residents of Camden County.

In addition, Camden County residents who live in the sixth legislative district have a strong team of candidates hoping to bring some positive reforms to the state government. As opposed to Governor Corzine and his buffoons who would rather see you re-locate to North Dakota than lower your taxes, Joe Adolph, Brian Greenberg & Scot DeChristofaro want to lower the oppressive tax burden on New Jersey residents and make New Jersey a desirable place to live once again.

Again, it should be noted that the dolts representing Camden County at the state and local level have had their share of success including the previously mentioned highest property tax rate in the state. They have also continued to launch Camden in the record books for its realistic re-creation of a third world country right here in New Jersey. Maybe that is what folks in Camden County are looking for. Maybe they feel that you have to travel too far these days to experience the hardships, filth, corruption and decay of a third world nation and like to have that just a stone’s throw away.

However, if the residents of Camden County have any pride left after suffering from “Democratic Lunacy Stockholm Syndrome” for decades, they will take a long hard look at this ticket. Adolph, DeChristofaro & Greenberg have strong backgrounds in finance, business and local government. Having met DeChristofaro and Greenberg at a local event, it was clear that they have the integrity and passion necessary to take on the corrupt political machine of George Norcross. They are also folks that are running to make a difference and not to score a major appointment or a massive government paycheck. (What a refreshing change in Boss Norcross‘ own back yard!)

Their biggest challenge, as well as Moran’s, is to defy the conventional wisdom and lethargy so common to Camden County residents. We’ve been punched in the face by government policies designed to take our money and freedom so many times that we actually seem to prefer it now. We look at the David and Goliath elections as ones that cannot be won and prefer to return to our couch with our chips and remote control. Our county, state and nation, however, are at a dangerous crossroads. The nation continues its slow slide into socialism as the people sleep silently. This election marks a tremendous opportunity to start a movement. Our nation needs to find a way back to financial stability and ethical governance. In the words of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (the liberal readers are throwing up in their mouths right now) in her widely praised speech (even by the New York Times) to a group of investors in Hong Kong “We’re not interested in government fixes, we want more freedom.” Government has proven itself worthy of our distrust. It is time for us to do what needs to be done and take this state back for the people. It’s time to start finding the answers to our problems somewhere else. The government has run out of other peoples’ money and has long since abandoned the bandwagon of common sense. The crazy homeless drunk down the street would govern with more efficiency and success than the bozos running the show now.

At the top of the ticket in November, there will also be the epic fight between perennial wind-bag Jon “Speedy” Corzine and his malaise, corruption and complete failure, and successful federal prosecutor Chris Christie. Of course, if you read the news, Christie is some deranged dirtbag who was secretly plotting to rule the world with the help of evil mastermind Karl Rove. His record suggests otherwise. Christie is a man who has taken on corruption in both political parties and who has a strong record of integrity. Jon Corzine, however, is busy confessing his own failure and urging New Jersey residents to flee to North Dakota to escape his liberal overspending and assault on economic success. As one Corzine sycophant recently told me, “it’s all Christie Whitman’s fault.” Now Whitman was a complete failure, but seriously, she was governor about a thousand years ago. When will liberals ever take responsibility for their own failures? A century from now, some as-yet-to-be-born socialist windbag Democrat will be president and blaming all of his failures on George W. Bush. Whatever happened to the good old days when Democrats were sane and said things like “the buck stops here?” That is a question as hard to answer as the age-old conundrum of discovering the true meaning of “is” has been for many Democrats.

In fact, just four short years after promising to fix our government and lower property taxes, Jon just can’t help himself. Proving his manhood to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Corzine recently bragged that he “wouldn’t rule out raising taxes” on the half-broke, starving and suffering masses of New Jersey.

Of course, that is saying that Corzine is still running come November. Camden County’s own personal feudal lord, George Norcross, has spent a good deal of time recently denying reports that he is secretly working on a deal to send Corzine out on another speedy car ride sans seatbelt. That’s right, George is accused of planning a “Lautenberg” surprise whereupon the losing Corzine would mysteriously disappear last-minute so that some other long-missing liberal geezer could close the deal. Surely that is just a rumor though. Although, liberal fossile Jim Florio probably has a thrill going up his leg similar to those felt by Chris Matthews whenever Obama stutters, er uh, speaks. He’s probably dusting off old “tax-promising” speeches from the late 80s in case he gets the last minute call.

New Jersey it is time to wake up and smell the landfill. Our state government is dirtier than our drinking water (and that’s saying something...shout out to all fellow Winslow Township residents!) We have some folks willing to fight the David and Goliath fight for us, but they need our support. It’s time to tell government to “keep the change” but give us back our economic and individual freedom. Camden County could help turn the tide this November by supporting Moran, Adolph, DeChristofaro, Greenberg and Christie!

Jersey, North and South are a bunch insey winny municipalities too stupid to unite ala the referendum to unite the school districts in Gloucester County. "Corruption" is part of the human condition, a Todd-Whitman or FDR is rare. Jersey deserves their high taxes. The next great politician in Jersey will be the one who comes in after the next Governor raises taxes and/or cuts services. Anyone following that will look like a hero...But at the end of the day Jersey to afford your split governments the price will be taxes.

    Dear Mr. Attorney General:

We write as attorneys, elected officials, former elected officials, law professors and former prosecutors to ask that you take specific and critical measures to investigate and prosecute wide-spread criminal political corruption in the State of New Jersey. We need not recount the massive violations of federal law that have already occurred in New Jersey. The efforts by lobbyists and contractors to bribe politicians at all levels of New Jersey government in return for government favors -- in violation of several federal statutes -- have been the subject of numerous investigative series in virtually every publication in the state as well as in national media outlets like the New York Times, Sixty Minutes and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Academic political scientists of national repute routinely opine that New Jersey is the most politically corrupt state in the nation. The U.S. Attorney for New Jersey openly admits that when he attends meetings with U.S. Attorne

with U.S. Attorneys from around the country, that he is approached by his fellow prosecutors who express disbelief and outrage by what they read occurring in New Jersey. Dozens of low-level New Jersey officials and lobbyists have gone to jail. Most incredibly, as detailed below, a United States District Court Judge, sua sponte, after the conviction of executives of the New Jersey-based Commerce bank in a federal trial in Philadelphia, exhorted federal prosecutors to pursue Commerce Bank and other lobbyists for federal racketeering violations.Extraordinary corruption requires extraordinary measures. Despite low-level convictions, pay-to-play business-as-usual is still the order of the day in New Jersey. Many of the same actors involved in illegal schemes still participate in New Jersey governance. Only your office can provide the resources and tools needed to end criminal political corruption in New Jersey. Therefore, we ask that you take the following measures:1.Appoint an Outside Prose
