Bigoted, sexist homophobes need their energy too!

Michael Weiner, A.K.A. Michael Savage has put in some strong effort of hiring big named lawyers ( the law firm of Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard & Shapiro) to cover up the fact that Savage, ( Who just made news by being BANNED for the UK for being a hate monger) was profiting from Rockstar Energy Drink.  These lawyers have gone after bloggers and websites  who have publicized the connection. The "Boycott Rockstar" facebook account was closed without warning, and was threatened with a business libel lawsuit if he didn't publicly apologize. A gay news website, gaywired.com, has had to publish a partial retraction.  The Rockstar website has gone from explaining about the history behind the company to just deleting the page from their website completely and erasing all internet archives.  (notice how http://www.rockstar69.com/company.html looks like the distribution page? Even the internet archive, which used to have previous versions of their company page are now pulling up error pages.)

This is news because Michael Savage is a Shock Jock from the Dittohead clan of Crazed-Old-White-Dudes-Who-Make-Money-Being-Insulting.  He insults gays.  He fights immigration, transgendered people, Feminists, Mentally Challenged and every other group he can think who he can get a rise out of.  That is why they call them Shock Jocks.  If they were always pleasing and fought for civil liberties and human decency and kindness they would all be Amy Goodman.  Now that he is in some real trouble, the family is trying to distance Michael from their corporation, hoping to avoid losing their distribution and hold as the US #3 energy drink.

It is just silly to deny there is a connection.  Michael Savage's wife is listed as the director, treasurer, and secretary of both Rockstar and Savage Productions. Both companies even share the same address.  Father and son formed The Paul Revere Society, which campaigns for the deportation of all illegal immigrants together. While I am not stating that Michael Weiner is an employee of Rockstar, it is obvious that this is a family business.

From Rockstar's Own website:

"I was very fortunate to have been raised by two of the leading herbalists in the world, Dr. and Mrs. Michael Weiner, Ph.D. ... From my earliest walking days, I remember exploring the jungles of the South Pacific on expeditions with my parents. ... My family has taken that spirit and experience - their lifetime journey - and developed the most complete, most unique, most powerful, and most honest energy beverage ever created: ROCKSTAR." - CEO RUSSELL GOLDENCLOUD WEINER

Now in May 2009, Michael lied, stating  that "I had nothing to do with the founding or creation of Rockstar."  Sure, the son, Russell, is the CEO.  But why go to all the trouble hiding the family's Gay Bashing heritage?  Even their owner started up a Rockstar-sponsored concert at Concord Pavillion in 2004 chanting "Who's heterosexual and proud? If you're not, hopefully you will be soon".  I say embrace your homophobic brothers ( sorry chicks, you cant come unless you're het and hot) and just come out of the closet as a company with questionable morals.  Homo Hating Dude-Bros need their caffeine fix too!  There were many hate fueled racist, homophobic Anti-Semites in our history who have accomplished some pretty astounding things.  Henry Ford kept Americans on the Road.  Stalin helped stop the spread of Nazism into Europe.  Even  Hitler was the driving force behind the start of the Volkswagen company.  Walt Disney did some great movies even though he was a union-busting sexist. So until Stormfront.org or Focus on the Family start branching out into packaged goods, there is a whole great market there to tap into.

After all, most people won't mind or even care if their favorite energy drink is owned by the son of a right wing extremist radio personality, and that the CEO seems to have joined in the father's beliefs. Most just want to party like a rockstar, as long as their kind is allowed in.

I get it. Savage == not your tribe; Goodman == of your tribe.

Free speech == for people of your tribe.

It has been common knowledge for years that Savage's son , not Savage, owns Rockstar. He's even talked about it on his show. When his son ran for office and was defeated miserably for being related to Savage and having similar but not as extreme views as his father, the son got out of Politics and started RockStar. His parents invested in it. It is why I don't support RockStar. But we need to be clear that Michael Savage doesn't own it. His "the Apple has not fallen far from the tree" son owns it.

Mr Santiy - It does not bother me that Savage is not of my tribe. He should (and does) say anything he wants to. people should just know where their money goes to, and should be free to write about it without fear of corporate lawsuits. I will and have FOUGHT for free speech for ANY Human. Just don't hide under your legal blankets and pretend its not true. Stand behind your beliefs - don't cower and call it a smear campaign against your family.

For clarification, my personal facebook account was disabled by Facebook and the group that was taken down without explanation from Facebook was titled "Don't Drink Hate. BOYCOTT ROCKSTAR."

That said, thank you for this article!

Also, I alongside the fellow admin of the original group, who were both threatened by Rockstar's lawyers have put together this collection of resources, alongside a timeline, for anyone interested (individuals, bloggers, media, etc.). It covers what has been going on, informational resources and all media coverage:

I never was a big energy drink fan to start with but when I did drink it I usually drank Monster. Now that I know Savages son od.ns RockStar I will probably start buying that instead.
