Fashion takes center stage on Lifetime TV when Project Runway returns for its eighth season on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. , according to a July 14, 2010 press release from Lifetime TV. More fashion designers than ever in series history are set to compete in the expanded 90 minute version of television's top fashion design series. The new crop of designers will meet host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. Actress Selma Blair will service as a guest judge for the season premiere.
Project Runway received two Primetime Emmy nominations for 2010, including Outstanding Reality - -Competition Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program for host Heidi Klum.
Project Runway is filmed on location in New York, featuring couture creations and fashion flubs and the designers attempt to make the cut to show their creations at New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. This season's prize package includes $100,000 L'Oreal Paris to start his/her own fashion line, a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine, a $50,000 technology suite by HP and Intel to create a vision and run the business and the opportunity to design and sell an exclusive collection on Piperlime.com.
