Apple has been having a rough couple of months. In November, there were widespread reports of damaged displays on the device. Now they have halted shipments of their new 27” iMacs until reported issues of cracked glass, flickering displays, yellow screens, noise, and drive failures can be resolved.
Customers attempting to order the monstrous machine online are also shut out – the Apple website notes that the iMac will ship in approximately two weeks.
A web designer who created a website to track issues with the 27” iMac may have sparked the decision. By trolling the Apple support site and taking reports directly from users, Scott Pronych has compiled over 600 Apple customers who have had major issues with their new computers.
Amazon.com is currently reporting that a new 27-in. iMac will ship "within 1 to 2 months." Worse, ClubMac.com is saying that it will not have the 27-in. iMac in stock until the end of the month, long after the busy Christmas shopping season.
