Office desk at a law firm
There are 3 things that all businesses should do in an unstable economy, which includes several bottom line boosting efforts. Businesses from all sectors should pay attention to their weaknesses and strengths to determine how to best approach any issue. For starters, creating a better organized office space; improving security measures; and making SEO (search engine optimization) a priority with results.
The best way to go about the first of the 3 things can be easier said than done. For example, a messy desk could hinder important information from being found quickly. Also, it could allow inside security breaches to be easier. All employees should have a trash can or one very nearby. More electronic messages or memos should be used to limit paperwork. Invest in bins, and marking folders as pending, completed, and ongoing for office work. Creating a system for all workers will establish accountability, transparency, and time savings. Seek the advice of a professional organizer as well for huge facilities that may have specialized needs.
Second, improving security measures can be done with some simple additions. For instance, using locked shredders and file cabinets. Keys should only be distributed based on clearance requirements. Train employees to properly use spreadsheets, lock them with a code, and to apply alien script. This will limit the access of sensitive documents throughout the company.Trust will provide customers and potential ones a sense of security when dealing with the company for long term purposes. After all, it takes more money to generate a new customer than maintain a current one.
Third, creating organic search rank improvement does not usually happen over night. Therefore, SEO strategy will take some time to see results, but it should be measurable. Businesses that have only pay per click ads are missing people that do generic searches in Google. In order to rectify this, a corporate blogger may need to be hired or contracted. Basically, this would mean the company would have their own publicist for everything online. This should include forum exposure, blog updating (creation), press releases, and all other viral marketing techniques. This is relatively new, so the average cost per month is about $400-$1000 for all the services depending on depth. However, a good technology person could handle this responsibility with some research of what participation creates results. Results means increased business, bottom line.
In summary, implementing a sound business strategy will provide a better bottom line. Employees and managers will be able to handle more work, and be able to do it with improved accuracy. Thus, generating revenue to enhance the company. Taking a few small steps at a time will create the best results. Remember in general, people don't like change. Change needs to be gradual and seen as a better alternative. Otherwise, employees may try to sabotage any improvements. Creating revenue in a troubled economy may not be simple, but it can be done with some strategy.
