The 40th anniversary of Earth Day is on April 22, 2010, and one local, eco-friendly business has committed to preserve the earth, 24/7. Royal Oak-based Verde’ Lifestyles, http://www.verdelifestyles.com/, founded in October, 2009, by Danielle Brycz, 24, and Ryan Forrest, 23, is an online, “green” home décor shop that offers organic and recycled home products, such as bedding, pillows, lighting, rugs, accents and wood furniture. Already, this company has attracted significant attention, and offers an Earth Day promotion of free shipping on April 22, which will save customers from $6 to $60 in shipping costs.
“We became interested in the greening of our world and wanted to sell products that bring people enjoyment and do not harm their health or the environment,” says Brycz of Dearborn, Mich., who after graduating from Michigan State University in May, 2008, determined with partner Forrest of Rochester, Mich., to form a green online company.
This young duo read The Four-Hour Work Week and Think and Grow Rich. After six months researching and connecting with manufacturers, they developed a business plan, website, online community Verde.Peoplemovers.com, and marketing plan. After launching their company to 40 family and friends at Bastone in Royal Oak, their networking, social media, and other marketing initiatives have built their presence. Over the past five months, they acquired green purchases from as far as California.
“Our customers make a conscious effort to reduce their carbon footprint, and we are pleased to help them,” says Brycz, whose online home décor shop’s commitment to sustainability includes branching out into kitchenware and bath and body products.
Verde’ Lifestyles encourages people to create a global green economy. On Earth Day, April 22, visit http://www.verdelifestyles.com/ to acquire the code for free shipping.
