"Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure" has boosted our local economy and put people in the seats at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, formerly the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.
The musical's local economic impact is an estimated $8.1 million, based on the Arts & Economic Prosperity III Calculator, as reported by Bizjournals.
"Wonderland" has brought about 50 performers and other professionals to the Bay area beginning in October. These employees, their friends and families, and audience members are expected to produce 10,000 hotel room nights and generate $1.4 million in local and state tax revenue from direct spending.
The show lasts through January 3.
