Summer shortcake

After the grill has cooled off for the night, how about enjoying a delicious dessert.

Summer Shortcake is simple to make with just a few ingredients. It only takes about 5 minutes.

 

Summer Shortcake

1 (11 ounce) pound cake

15 ounce can fruit cocktail

chocolate syrup

whipped cream

 

Slice a piece off of the pound cake and lay flat on a plate.

Drizzle the chocolate syrup across the pound cake.

Drain the syrup from the fruit cocktail. Add a couple spoonfuls of the fruit to the top of the pound cake.

Top with the whipped cream and serve.

    OMG! I can't believe someone else eats fruit cocktail shortcake! I don't use the chocolate syrup, though. I pour the juice over it and let the shortcake get all mushy.
