Homemade sherbet

The hot summer weather has finally reached Cincinnati and everyone is looking for ways to cool off.  Ice cream and sherbet is a fun treat all summer long but if your kids like having a cool treat everyday, you know it can get expensive.

There is a simple way to make a delicious sherbet at home with just three ingredients.

Homemade Sherbet

1 cup sugar

1 envelope of your favorite unsweetened Kool-Aid, any flavor

3 cups milk

In a blender, mix all the ingredients together until thoroughly blended.

Place the blender, covered, in the freezer for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, remove from freezer and blend again until smooth.

Pour into plastic container with lid.

Place in freezer again.

After it has become the consistency of sherbet, about 1 hour, it is ready to eat.

If there is any sherbet left over, cover with lid and return to freezer.
