Deviled eggs are a summertime favorite in Cincinnati. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, you can find those little deliciously filled eggs at every cookout and picnic across the tri-state.
There are many versions when it comes to what ingredients to fill them with. Some people just add mayo and mustard and then some people go with a few more ingredients.
This recipe is one of my favorites and it is easy to make.
Deviled Eggs
6 hard boiled eggs
1 tablespoon mustard
1-3 tablespoons mayonnaise, depending on your taste
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
1/4 tablespoon salt
1/4 tablespoon pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons pickle relish
Paprika
Boil the eggs. Check out this article on How To Make Boiled Eggs.
Allow the eggs to cool.
Peel the eggs. Slice the eggs lengthwise.
Carefully remove the yolk and place in a mixing bowl. Place the egg whites on a plate.
Add all the ingredients except for the Paprika to the egg yolks. Mash the yolks and ingredients together to form a paste.
Gently stuff the egg whites with the egg yolk mixture.
Dust the eggs with the Paprika.
For a great summer cookout, try these recipes to serve along with the Deviled Eggs.
