Check out Second Time Around, a second-hand designer clothing store on Newbury Street. People have been known to score Jimmy Choo shoes and Prada bags at this store. It's really hit or miss, so if you don't find anything you like the first time you go, make sure you check it out again. Also make a stop at Marshalls. This store usually has a ton of great selection of name-brand shoes in their Shoe Mega Shop and low-priced designer clothing for 20 to 60 percent off department store prices. They have one section called The Cube which is a great place to find low-priced fashions for juniors and young adults. There are a ton of Marshalls locations around Boston, check out their website for the one nearest you.
TJ Maxx, owned by the same company as Marshalls (which is headquartered in Framingham, MA), also has a lot of great stuff for cheap. They offer a large selection of name-brand handbags and accessories, as well as a Runway section featuring luxury European brand apparel and accessories for women. There is a TJ Maxx located near the Downtown Crossing MBTA station at 350 Washington St. More Boston-area locations can be found on their website.
Filene's Basement is another off-price retailer headquartered in Massachusetts to check out. Located at 497 Boylston St, they usually have a wide selection of designer brands. Check out their website for in-store events and more locations.
