Setting up baby's new nursery is fun. Picking out the perfect crib set to go with your design idea can very satisfying. However, these sets tend to be pricey so you want to make sure you get your money's worth. What do you do with those crib bumbers once baby is ready to move into a bigger bed?
Heidi Schlumpf, blogger and mother of two, recently found a clever way to repurpose her son's crib bumbers into cute valances. By using the bumbers she already had, Heidi not only saves money but has instant valances that already match the room. To see Heidi's complete tutorial please visit her blog.
Don't have any crib bumpers handy but still like this idea? Hit the thrift stores! Baby sets are often found in the linens section and the bumpers can usually be purchased separately. As seen in Heidi's example, many sets have designs that can be used in any type of room, not just a children's room. If you happen to find a complete baby set that you like consider turning the sheets into coordinating pillows and the quilt into a cute rug. You'll save money, have original pieces and feel good about reusing an older item.
